Woot, good for you.
I baked three pies and a double batch of roll dough... gonna be cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls both. Whew. Now I need to write. Fortunately I think I have a grip on what to do next.
I got Oven Stuffer Roasters this week, because SirKit doesn't much care for Turkey. I bought two because Paul might bring one of his friends over. Brandon's parents moved to Florida several years ago, so he'd be alone, and I'm like his second Mom, so he usually comes over for holidays. So I'm going to marinate them in an Apple Cider Vinaigrette before I bake them. At least they won't take as long as a turkey would.
I got a call from Clare just about an hour ago. She and her friends were on their way home from the grocery story, and it occurred to them that the turkey they'd bought was frozen, and they weren't sure how to thaw it in time to cook it for dinner. Heh. I told her they'd have to soak the bird, in it's plastic wrap, in a sink filled with cold water. They'd have to take shifts changing the water every 1/2 hour or so for about 7 hours, cause it's a 15 lb. bird! I also suggested she just put it in their refrigerator overnight, then start the soaking process in the morning. Figuring thawing then baking time, I told her it likely would not be ready to eat before 7 tomorrow evening. She said that's about when they planned to eat anyway, so it worked out well! There are about 8 of them who are planning the meal.
