The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I wish sport-weight yarn wasn’t so much pricier. :-\

Ironic iddn't it?

Now you mention it...yep!

Pay more for less!

I do like the Red Heart Super Saver colors and worsted weight. For the most part. And on sale, it’s nice and cheap. But *sometimes* it sure would be nice if they had a sport weight Super Saver line!

Amazingly, it's not there. They do have an animated version of another of Raymond Brigg's books, but not The Snowman. Can you check to see if your library has it?

We almost had a situation like your search for Luke's gift. Joseph wants "Guitar Hero III" for his XBox 360 for Christmas, and NO ONE had it in stock, either online or locally! So he did what he did last year when searching for the Wii. He made a list of local stores, and proceeded to call each of them every day to see if they'd gotten any in their most recent shipment. We'd checked GameStop, and online it said the games wouldn't be shipping until January, but he called one this morning and they had it. SirKit took him out to get it. We'll put it under the tree for his gift from 'St. Nicholas'. He doesn't care that he already knows, he's just glad he found one! And it's even the Les Paul style guitar that he really wanted. So he "Shopped Victoriously"!

I’ll check the library and the local Blockbuster. But our library selection is pretty limited.

Exam printout, check. Natural light, check. Caffeine source, check. Genki music, check. Notes at hand, check.

How much of this final can I do before leaving town?

Heh, just got your email saying you were headed home. One hour and one minute after you sent it. Electrons must move slower in CR.

So far it booted with no video, then crashed when loading from cd, and now can’t see a hard drive...
I have lost track of how many hard drives that machine has eaten.

Can I have a new PC for Christmas?

Ugh

Thought you wanted a treadmill.

Maybe you should ask for a smarter wife. This test is really hard.

For the good luck, of course.

Worst Christmastime song ever is “Christmas Shoes”.

Even worse than Please Daddy (Don't Get Drunk This Christmas)?

That song makes me cringe every time I hear it... and yes it does get played on the country station that we listen to. *shudder*
