The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Dang... traffic is just a ~mess~ out there. Getting to Bvue is going to be a bugger. I might not even try till noon.

Have you got high waves at the beach? Can you take a picture?
How about the rain? Bremerton has had 7 inches overnight. Is the basement wet?
To: HairOfTheDog
No wind or waves to speak of here, also not really raining all that hard. Yesterday afternoon it was pretty intense, but it’s calmed down.
No water in the basement yet. It takes a few days of rain before the water table gets high enough.

Loaner horse. I am not sure how often she ride but I don’t think it is all that much. my sister, Empress, has a horse and does trail rides. They were out with some of her friends and one of them had loaned the other horse. It had apparently been going slow and then decided that all of a sudden it really needed to catch up to those other horses. Emp was behind her and saw it all pretty clearly. It was actually not too bad a fall as far as the area. Most of the rest of that trail was much rockier. And that was the only spot where you could drive right up to it, and get a helicopter in. Lots of scraggly brush and rocky places around there.

Some folks really need a hobby. Some people just are not wired for sitting around. Fortunately I don’t have that problem.
To: TalonDJ
Oh man... must have been scary for your sister to watch too. Well, hope you hear good news this morning.
To: TalonDJ
Keep us posted. We’ll be praying.

Lot of standing water on roads here. Makes for an *interesting* drive. Yay. There were fewer people than usual on the interstate, which either means they anticipated it being even worse than it was *or* there are some stoppages further south. Or folks coming in off 101 are stuck.
Still coming down good and hard. Makes me kinda glad I don’t have a basement...though if it keeps up other stuff is gonna leak. It’s done that before.

Hey, what’s wrong with my suggestions? I’m just trying to help you hit 99.
Though with 9 shows left to go you’ll probably make that.

The two “don’t forget we still have to do this after the show” emails I got today may just push me over the top...
