The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Go Cubbies...
Great sounding pizza - home made beats the delivery ones hands down.
We had the other half of our fridaynite pizza just now. Cracker thin crust, mozzarella cheese (can’t get LSA fired up for goat cheese), ‘shrooms, tunafish and some left-over salmon. Jalapenos and basil were from the garden.

I don’t know who Kevin McKidd is. I’ll have to check him out on IMDB.

He was Lucius Vorenus in HBO's Rome. (Pullo for Senate!!!) An another example of an otherwise ordinary lookin' fella transformed into utter hubba-hubbaness by a skirt and a sword.

Good Luck with misskitty’s meds.
Back from our walk - cooling down nicely, however LSA says ‘gypsy gets her half of a frost paws when she cools down’.
Downtown looking better, lots of foot traffic since they have opened ~ most of ~ the streets. Still got boring machine at the RR tracks.
Jazz at 3rd and Douglas - sort o rock we think - at 3rd and Main. Party on Garth.

Don't know how many there were over Worcester last night, but it seemed they kept going for over 1/2 hour. The last 24 hours have been vey busy. My cousin, Charlie, from Providence died last Tuesday. He'd been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and had tumors on his liver, back in April. My brother, Gerry, and he are the same age, so Gerry was going to fly up from Baltimore on Friday afternoon, and I was going to meet him at the airport and we'd go on to the wake. He got to BWI about 1, and even entertained the possibility of driving up; it would have taken him about 6 1/2 hours. He was flying stand-by, and didn't get on the first three flights on Southwest. He finally bought a ticket on the 7, just to be sure he could get here. Then, the delays started. They actually were in line for takeoff twice, were waved off, and the pilot returned to the terminal so folks could get something to eat, etc. I went on down to Providence, going through a hugh rainstorm on the way. Since Gerry still hadn't taken off at 8pm, I went to my Uncle's house to wait to hear from him. He finally called at 10pm and said they'd be in at 11. I was pulling into the airport, and saw his plane landing. We got out of the airport around 11:20 and headed back up to MA. We were about halfway when I noticed the lightning up ahead in Worcester. It was almost continuous! Then we got hit with a microburst, and leaves and stuff were blowing all over the road. Then the rain started, and within minutes the windshield wipers were having trouble handling the load. I slowed to 45 mph, and put on my hazard lights. It was vey scary for about 20 minutes; the rain was coming down in angled sheets, and I was afraid of hydroplaning.
Made it home safely, but we visited until almost 3am, then got up and headed back down for the funeral this morning. We went back to Uncle Frank's after that, and had a good visit with my younger cousin, now the only surviving one of their three sons. He's a year younger than I, and we had a wonderful time recounting stories of his two older brothers, and their mom.
It was a good visit, but I'm pooped!

I think our Beagle might be haunted. ;~)
To: HairOfTheDog
It might explain some of the noises he makes...
To: HairOfTheDog
Tell that beagle to turn off his high beams! ;-)

Ack!! The rain cloud has not moved in the last 45 minutes. And I really want rain badly. Rain to short out amplifiers and electric guitars and microphones, without anyone getting hurt, of course.
Congratulations on your ambidextrous capabilities of medicating your cat! LSA
