It’s not something I really wanna do, either. A gal at work is going to be renting out her house soon and wanted me to look at it to see if I’d be interested. But I also know that she’s a neat freak. So I’m thinking...with pets and all? No. She knows I have pets and says she’s OK with it, but I don’t think she really would be - not with cat scratches and a dog that might dig and bark and such. She’s kind of fussy in some ways. She doesn’t have pets, partly for that reason.
But she’s trying to be nice, so I feel obligated to at least go look before I tell her this is out of our league. It’s easier to explain when you’re looking right at the stuff that could end up damaged. I think there’s even some furniture there — that’d be my main concern, really. We don’t do well with nice furniture...

I was going to go for a walk, but it looks too cold and blustery for that.
Salt truck came past. Hopefully that means the main roads are clear. Oh well, we’ll take the battlecruiser to church, it can handle anything.
All we got was a half inch of rain.
Wind is blowing, temps are dropping, but at least the sun is out!
It looks like the basil plant likes thesunroom. It’s starting to send up flowering stalks. I pinched the plant back some and now have basil leaves drying on a screen on top of the radiator. Mmmmmm......basil....
And I really don't want it going on a block and a half from our house! LSA

I’ve embarked on yet another digital music organization quest. I’m also finding all the holes in my CD collection where various folks “borrowed” CDs long ago and never returned ‘em. *sigh* It’s probably not even worth keeping the liner notes.
I used to teach survival course for my teams as I was the E&E / SERE NCO for our unit....... I stressed that if it wasn’t in your pocket or you were wearing it you wouldn’t have it when the SHTF .
We used a simple soapdish mini survival kit back then that was dummy corded to the troops pocket. We modified out gear with extra long rigger belts, used 550 para cord as our boot laces. Leatherman or other brand of multi-tools . Layered our clothing . Practiced the fine art of multi-purpose use or don’t carry it if at all possible.
EDC has good and bad ideas yet brings to light some cool why didn’t I think of that deals. Like using a multi-pocket large baby / diaper bag that is durable as heck vs a expensive maxpedition or bag master gear bag......it works well !
one cool item recently added to my emergency gear was a jerven bag that is perfect ! I used a homemade vacuum packing system I have to pack it down to the size of a paperback book. It’s issue to troops in Norway. I tested it during our last cold rain / sleet storm. Stayed toasty and dry.

As to work place PC carry. I use an ankle rig for a snub 357 340S&W w/ 2 spare bianchi speed strips and a small altoids can pressed into service as a personal survival kit. Only other items really carried are a Surefire E2 defender, a fire steel rod on my key ring and a LM tool. Neck lanyard with company ID card has a Photon IIIS on it and my wallet has a few rakes, pick and torsion bars for doors that need to be opened in an emergency. Finesse vs breaker bars per se..... A messenger bag carries my lunch and a couple bottles of water along with a weather shell and a small blow out kit for medical emergencies albeit the ladies bathrooms usually have all the emergency bandages one will need ...
Primary skills and how too ideas should be carried in yer mind vs any tool or gear bag. But simple tools make it easier .......just a few will do .

That’s great about the basil in the sunroom! I love basil, tastes like liquid sunshine.
We broke down and bought a pre-lit Christmas tree since my back is still too messed up for me to help OB put lights on the tree we have. It went together so easy, it was great!
