The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

D'oh! Cross-thread contamination! ;-)
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh...yeah, I remember that. I was lurking at the time.
Battering down your hatches could get messy.

But I would argue that it would have some protective qualities... There isn’t a harder epoxy anywhere stronger than dried on pancake batter. :~)

Deader than Elvis, at least...

consider the possibility that when Aragorn said "He needs Elvis medicine" that he knew the properties of lembas were akin to fried nanner sammiches.Nah, I'd think they were more like Moonpies!

This is true! But I don’t think it does much against wind...
To: SuziQ; Corin Stormhands
Moonpies and fried nanner sammiches strike me as far more hobbity than elven.

Oh dear... did you tell him you don’t get to just bring stuff home for free all the time?
What is the holdup, again, with you getting back into nursing? You need recertification?

Well, it’s just been such a long time I’m out of practice and I don’t know how to get back in to it...I have a friend that works at a local community college and I’m hoping she can give me some tips. I’m going to email her today.
My license is still current. I’m looking for an office nurse position.
But in the meantime, Walmart is just a mile or so down the road.
