Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
honestly, I don’t know what was so difficult about that...
You’d better hope g’nad is too bsuy to notice... he might come after you...
He’s still at the copier...
...besides, it’s on the previous page. he’ll never find his way back...
I like that idea.
OK. If you’re going to keep saying “yeah but”, even in small letters, I’m going to say this. I know you’re in no mood, but you need a lecture, IMHO.
You have, or can make, plenty of cash to do both this trip and the ticket without starving to death. I know it. You make money.
My advice, pay it or put it on your credit card or put it off till you get back, or whatever makes you feel better, then put on some optimistic music, kill the sad ballads and snap out of this! Funk breeds funk. I could sit here and complain that I’m fat and frumpy and bored and lazy and work myself into a deep depression by noon. But I’d hope you all wouldn’t just let me. Buck up.
~smile~. Your life is not so bad! I’ve seen worse.
If you try to bring anything else on, they'll probably make you throw it away, especially any drinks. Don't know about bags of chips, granola bars, etc., but I wouldn't bother trying to bring anything, simply to avoid the hassle.
Out of curiosity, what do you usually put in trail mix?
I used to take that on plane trips when I left from home, because the local natural foods place (strangely enough run by big time Republicans...) had some really good mixes, but I don’t think I’ve seen as much here.
Huh. On our last flights we had box lunches that were great deli sandwiches or a chef salad, some fruit and a cookie.
Drinks I know about...but I think they allow other stuff.
I just don’t like having to pay eight bucks for a made-ahead soggy sammich, ya know?
Even my trip to CA last spring was a buy-a-box-o'-granola-bars-and-chips flight. At least there was a movie.
I think they do that for longer flights - and yeah, they aren’t bad! Not the sort of hot meals we had on overseas flights, but not bad.
But since I’m doing shorter flights (to OH and then to VT) rather than direct, I don’t think they offer anything more substantial than pretzels. Especially since airlines keep cutting back.
1 can of mixed nuts, 1 bag o’ raisins (to taste), 1 bag plain M&Ms. Sometimes I’ll put craisins in just to mix it up a bit.
Last spring down to Las Vegas. They had terrific box lunches.
Its a sure ticket for, ahem, travelers' flu.
As Hair said, it's vacation, just plan to enjoy it, and pay for it later! ;o)
Mmmm...craisins...
We had to buy it, but they had it. Call the airline. Find out. Might even say on your ticket conformation communications somewhere. :~)
