Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
So the page numbers should be Tech Proposal-1, Statement of Werk-1, etc? Hmmm....I don’t think the Outline/Page Numbering function can do that. It needs letters or numbers that it can increment.
Can you do “Chapter A” in Heading 1 and then “Tech Proposal in a different style (say normal 2) and give it the same font as the Heading 1? That would get you A-1 numbering.
No need to stand in the corner. This is guess werk for me too.
Couple of weeks ago, I needed to include a document as an attachment and have the page numbers restart. I never could get it right.
no... steaduh “Chapter B”, The heading is “Statement of Work”... but the pages havetuh be numbered “B-1 - B-15”
The “Tech Proposal” part can just be put in as a footer, then the number, Section break to new footer “Statement or Work” and start a new numbering sequence.
Yeah, I was just checking out the footer thing. Maybe it’s just easier to put the “B - “ and add page number to the footer and do that for each section.
I think so... I’ve never used the style stuff.
BUT IF YOU MAKE A FOOTER “B-”, its “B-” throughout the entire doc...
I’ve had to use the style stuff for table of contents stuff and documents that had to be in outline form....big fat pain in the....
Anyway, I was cussin’ out Bill Gates.
Unless you use section breaks and then the footer can be changed in each section (provided you toggle the "same as previous section" switch *off*)
Sorry I was afk this morning. Are things working better? OT's help file would be the best bet.
For the record, there is nothing for which my hatred burns brighter than Microsoft Office products.
The style stuff is suicidal. Either use it for everything or for nothing. Any mixing or matching and life as you know it ends.
‘member my angst last year over attendin’ yer weddin’ or going to the awards program for Luke?
Apparently he got the same award again this year but 1) we had no idea and 2) we have no idea ~how~ he would have gotten this award. We’ve basically pulled him from the program.
But we just got this email that said “if your son wants to take the test to move up to the district award level.”
I got no idea.
Of course, when one of the other boys told Luke he got an award, Luke said “Mail it to me.”
First, make a section for each chapter (Insert-Break-Section)
Just go to the footer on the first page of each chapter and type the appropriate the letter for the chapter and add the page number.
THE NUMBERS RESTART... BUT THE LETTER REMAINS UNCHANGED...
Oh. And in the Header/Footer toolbar click on the format page number button and change it from “Continue from previous section” to “Start at” 1...and turn off “Same as Previous.”
I hate Bill Gates.
I’m thinking pitchforks, torches, tar, and feathers.
GOT IT!!! WOOHOO...
THX ALL!!
ROTFL!! Is he YOUR son, or what?
Woot! Good job!
Now, is it five o’clock yet? Cuz you need a beer. Or six.
