The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

My day’s going downhill, but that’s because I’m in meetings all afternoon...

I've had a:
1) erased the wrong spreadsheet and lost 1 weeks' worth of work
2) was given a report back to revise (hugh sections! *grumble*)
3) have a company credit card bill due that isn't going to get paid on time because mgmt can't be bothered to sign paperwork in a timely fashion... which will impact my credit
4) sciatica is *killing* me
5) need answers from five people who aren't in the office today
kinda day.

Oh - just got *another* paper back with heap big revisions. I'm at the point where I'm ready to yell, "Well why didn't you write the blankety-blanketin' thing yourself in the first place??"
I need chocolate.

Every time I see one of your posts like this, all I can think of is Jack Nicholson as The Joker. “Where does he get those wonderful toys.”

A dose of balance:

So.... are you gonna put cheerleaders in your nano? My MC is a rugby player, ergo my research is all legitimate... and stuff.

Hmmm...it’s possible. Could be from the character’s high school days, or could be from his time spent in Atlanta.
Not sure yet.
To: Corin Stormhands
The thred is ded tonite.
I'm busy outlining, trying to puzzle through the how and why of the final "battle". There will be a brief mushy moment between the MCs before they head off into certain death.

Anybody having trouble getting to Netflix?
To: Corin Stormhands
(the MC's don't die, but they don't know that yet...)
I haven't yet worked out why exactly they have to have someone on the inside in order for the raid to work. Probably something to do with the security system.
