In Basic, our assembly area was behind the mess hall. Before getting in formation, while everybody else was hanging around smokin' and jokin', I'd rush into the back door of the mess hall, where the ice maker was.
I'd fill up my helmet with crushed ice, jam it on my head, and then march out with everyone else. While everyone else was drenched in sweat, I was drenched in cold water, at least for the first ten minutes.
I would like to be a tribble today, that is, curl up in my favorite chair with a good book and maybe take a nap.
