The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well I suppose it’s better than being shot. In the head.

I bet we’ve got more traffic congestion here. I’m just blocks away from the Michael Vick court scene...

Yah. So I hear. I think going to the airport a little earlier may be in order.

Dang, I wish I’d known this was happening. It’s a fundraiser for Reichert. I don’t know what kind of donation it takes, but heck... I’d spend something to be able to go to an event with the President. Not too many chances to do that.

Oh - you’re flying out today?

Yeah - I don’t know what it takes to get on such an invite list! Would be interesting to know :~)

They said they expect him to be able to get from Seatac to Bellevue in 15 minutes. That’s quite a trick :~)

It’s easy to get around when the state patrol shuts down the roads in front of you. :-)

The trip to Bellevue is supposed to be about 2pm... but the real mess will be the trip back to boeing field at 5:00... and there’s a Mariner’s game tonight.

I’d consider a helo. Or a boat.

Yah. Back down for the usual trip. I really need to go someplace else for a change.

Huh, lunchtime already.

I have boring, tedious stuff to do but am energetic anyway and that makes a huge difference.

I want to write. I started a new story this weekend. It’s a boring, tedious story, but it’s still trying to write itself in my head, and I want to get some of it down before I forget.

So there’s that.

And tonight I’m picking up an office chair - found one for ten bucks, so that’s good!

However, I’m making up for any savings there ‘cause I’m also dropping off my bike for fenders and a new chain, which will cost. Not to mention I’ll by tempted by all kinds of fun toys at the bike shop, and may not escape unscathed. *And* I’m going to the bookstore after I drop off the bike.

Jr. wanted me to watch Return of the King with him last night, so I used the time to read through my 2005 Nanowrimo.

It needs work, but it ain’t half as bad as I thought it was.
