Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Smart aleck..
Well that looks like fun!
You'd just have to kill me.
I had to be escorted from the St. Louis Arch, and that's inside...
Corin don't do heights.
Unh...I think that part of the maze would be where I got stuck.
I think I could do that thing, because you can’t fall out of it, it’s not really heights. But I can’t walk a balance beam.
And yet, you want to go to the Grand Canyon...
heh... they didn’t act like they were bothered at all...
I didn’t see any grownups out there...
I could do it too... fer the same reasons... I ain’t askeered uh heights... ain’t really afeared uh fallin’... its the sudden stop that gives me pause...
I once saw a mom who had to go in the playland habitrail thing at McDonalds... The kid went in it, went to the top, and refused to come down. Just sat there waving. :~)
hehheh... bet he got thebeatin’ of his life... he woulduh if’n he were mine...
From the floor of the canyon.
Seriesly though, standing on the side of the Canyon looking down is far different than being up on a high structure. I could never do that clear walkway thing they're building.
We like to travel, but missing our nice bed is the one thing we don’t like about it. It’s just comfortable!
She was FURIOUS.
The rest of the restaurant thought it was hilarious.
Cool! Got them kids working with power tools and such!
I could get yuh out there...
~My~ younger child, on the other hand, walked into Starbucks tonight and said "I want a Double Chocolate Chip Frappachino."
Thankyouverymuch Sister Mary Hamburner. We would NEVER have bought one of those for him. Now it's ~his~ Starbucks drink.
He was ~not~ allowed to finish it this evening.
sure they did... cuz it wasn’t their kid...
Even if my brain knew that logically I couldn’t fall, I still couldn’t handle being able to see straight down like that.
In the museum back home, part of the second floor has glass panels. Once upon a time it was to allow light through (it’s a really old building), and they’re opaque, not see-through...but I still can remember being terrified of stepping on ‘em, no matter how many times we were told they were actually stronger than the wooden parts.
Actually being able to see straight down? Huh-uh...don’t think I could do it, not without a lot of hesitation.
