The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Sounds good!

On another subject...isn’t there a liquor store not far from the garage? Or is it a long way off?

The liquor store in Tumwater is up between the Safeway and Baskin Robbins up past the brewery...

You mean the papers that come off the machine showing the data? I didn't even see them; I was out like a light! But when I see the Doc next, I'll sure ask him! I think I behaved badly when getting the TE&E. I vaguely remember gagging as they inserted it, and my throat is hurting a little bit.

The only thing that hurts right now is some packing they had to put in the incision in my groin. I was somewhat awake while that was happening, and the Doc was trying to put pressure on it. I reminded him that I'd been on Lovenox for two days, and it was surprising I wasn't bleeding from every place I'd been stuck over the last three days! He had to put a plug in it, and I had to lay still for 2 1/2 hours. Wasn't too hard. I'd been knocked out for the TE&E, and was in 'twilight' for the catheterization, so I was groggy anyway.

It's been an interesting experience, and this is now the longest time I've EVER been in a hospital. I've thought about you several times since I've been here. The nurses and the aides are just wonderful, not to mention the doctors.

Supposedly. Which is why I don’t get why it’s cheaper to run one *constantly* than it is to run the furnace much. I’m thinkin’ my furnace has some flaws.

Oh did I read it backwards? I thought you said it dropped when you stopped running the space heater all the time.

~nevermind~ ;~)

I think you take the lead on ‘Christmas-can you top this?’

*snort* I HOPE no one else will ever top it! I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Thanks for your prayers. I'm sure they helped; the heart doc sure looked VEY relieved today after the results of the tests!

Oh Mrsnad, what a blessing for your family! I’m so glad the holidays were not as stressful as they might have been. And it was all due to the kindness of those who think so much of you, g’nad, and those great kids.

Yah...it isn’t logical.

Home. The total bill wasn’t too bad as car bills go. So there’s that. $180. Pricey parts, mostly. It could have been sooo much worse.

Ooh, sure!

Hope the drive down isn’t too bad. It’s very shiny out there. :-\ I hate shiny. I decided to save the liquor run for morning.

Well, I haven't been able to sit in one of Mom's comfy chairs without falling asleep. So there's that.

Of course that's to make up for the mattress from hell in her guest room. By 2 or 3 a.m. I was on thecouch and the Mrs. was in a recliner.

This is... the bed I fell out of two Thanksgivings ago and landed on my butt, starting most of my current back issues.

Speaking of such issues, trainer says it could be the hip. I'm goin' fer a complete fizzikal after the first of the year.

Good grief Suzi. What a holiday ordeal. You could be the plot for a “Lifetime” channel movie.

You need Cindy Brady to ask Santa to give Mom her voice back, or something like that...

Yeah, that would make a great episode for the Estrogen channel.
A good side effect of the diuretic is that I no longer have cankles. ;o)
