Hello all - Pinging my big ole Becky list to give an update.
Had a nice long talk with Becky... She’s OK... there’s hard times when it’s quiet I think, but she’s holding up.
We talked about her plans to get an apartment built in town and get her house ready to market, she’s got some good leads on selling the horses, the original people who wanted to buy Harley are still interested, and she’s got some other people who might be interested in Rocky. I wish I could take him... he’s a good horse!
We talked a little about our gift idea, and we’ve decided a tree might be complicated with the city and maybe there will be something much more practical she’ll need to get for this new apartment. On a practical level she’ll need a new couch and bed and decor for the place, and on a decorative level, she’ll be wanting some flower boxes and outdoor furniture for her little porch stoop. So we decided to just let it sit, for now, if that’s OK. 2J will hold the money until such time as Becky either says “this is what I’d like” or we give her the money to buy something she’s picked out.
We loved the tree idea, but it just didn’t fit.
We also talked about her getting all this stuff done so she can get one of them gaited horses. That idea still excites her but she’s got a lot to do.
She says she doesn’t know what to say on here, she is having a hard time getting back into small talk, but she sure appreciates everyone who is continuing to send her well wishes. I told her to go take some pictures of that muddy horse of hers, I guess Charlie’s going to come by and clean him up and ride him so he’s ready for those people to come and look at. Hopefully he hasn’t forgotten how to be a riding horse with all this time off.
So there’s the update of what’s going on :~)
See Becky, there’s lots to talk about. :~)
Is Harley broke English?
Mmmm. Maybe a nice small tree in a pot, for her porch, in addition to whatever else she’d like. ;o)
Thanks for the update. Whatever suits best is fine with me - And I’m fine with the money sitting until Becky decides and/or needs it.
I also sure wish I could get Rocky. I’ve been going through everyone I know trying to think of someone who raises quarter horses or is using quarter horses in their breeding program.
As an aside, Bob was talking about gelding Tuffy this morning. He decided not to breed him this year at all, just campaign him, and then making a decision next year. He said that would give him three good geldings, Prez, Indy and Tuffy, and he wants to sell everyone else.
Aw, Harley'll do fine. I didn't ride Bob for 6 month when his feet got so bad and when I rode him the first time after that he was actually better than he'd been before. I guess horses like a vacation every now and then too.
When you get your appartment all built and get settled in and if you're still so inclined, you might look at Japanese Maples to put in a pot on your new patio. I hear they do well in containers since they stay pretty small too. Or I saw an article in Southern Living once that said that azaleas do well as a container specimen, especially when they're limbed up to look more like a small tree.
Becky doesn’t have to say a thing. It just takes time.
