This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
WOW CJ! He’s GORGEOUS! And you know I LOVE that color. Is he a buckskin or a grulla or what?
Hmm, nope, Looks like Bladerider did a great job of figuring!
I will try to remember to take more pictures at the end of summer. May have more landscaping done by then to show off.
I was too but that is the way it was built. It has that large tack area that was made into a weekender sleeping area and the floor goes all the way up under there but since that did not have horses peeing on it it was not rotting.
I have been out of town on business the last two days so am just now getting to post comments. MT I would be very proud too! That is wonderful and I am sure the recognition made her real popular with her friends!
He’s ~beautiful~ cj... I’m happy for you :~)
I didn't want to spoil your story ;-) I agree though he did recover VERY well afterwards and was not looking for those horses to reappear again at all.
Hey Frog,
He’s a dusty buckskin. I wasn’t looking for color but I sure do like it.
I’m very fortunate to have great friends and I wouldn’t have been able to get my hands on him without two of them who happen to be trainers. I think they had decided it was time for my luck to turn around.
Thanks Hair. They sure do have a way of getting under your skin. I wasn’t too happy in my own when I was without one.
Well, then you shouldn’t be without one! I hope you enjoy him. Is he a gelding or still a stallion? He has that kind of stallion air about him.
Gidget focuses at the one pawing her from under the chair...
Got it! (eeek, Gidget careful gentle Gidget...)
Aha! A surprise attack on the unprotected rear flank!
I had to put and end to the game shortly after this... they were swarmin' her, and she was bouncing back and forth quickly enough to be careless. But she's SUCH a good girl.
Yeah!!!! Did you breed her to another spotted horse? You got a picture of him?
Well my trainer picked him up from our friend, and 3 days later the vet came and did the digital radiographs on all 4 legs and when they came out clean, he was immediately sedated and castrated.
He lays down a lot. Life seems to sort of exhaust him at this young age. But he’s so quiet that even before castration he would allow his stall to be cleaned around him while he stayed laying down.
I loved your trail riding pictures. Another big change that’s coming before the end of the year is that my friend is going to be selling the farm where we’re at. Mom and I are hoping to end up at a facility that has about 400 acres of trail riding access. We don’t have any of that currently. It looks like you and your hubby have access to some great places!
Getting out on trail would be good! He does look like he was developing the stallion neck and cheeks.
Nothing wrong with quiet in a young horse! :~)
Oh gosh! Gidget and the kittens are so cute.
Nothing like a slow afternoon at work to look at things I shouldn’t be!
She really does think she’s their momma. Cleans their hineys and everything :~P
Well, only a mama would do that. Blech!
Well you’ve just GOT to post more pictures of him. When will he be done at the trainers? Do you plan on showing him or just trail riding or what?
Welcome back. Wow, Smoke is beautiful - love his color and build.
