This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Yeah, I was too, but that's the way it was made. A lot of cattle trailers are made that way too, but this is the only horse trailer that I've seen that way.
Wow, that’s impressive about Alison! Congratulations!!
Good thing you still had that cast on. Did he lecture you at all about being a little careful till you’re healed, or is that a pointless exercise? :~)
He did give me a little soft brace that goes around the thumb and down the inside of the wrist that straps on with elastic velcro. He said I could wear it as much or as little as I wanted. So far I haven't wanted. But I'll probably wear it the next time I ride, just to be safe. But it might actually make me MORE prone to fall, because I usually have a pretty quick left-handed mane-grab reflex when something happens and I can't do that with a splint on. So I guess I just need to avoid those kinds of situations for a while.
As I recall, that's what broke your thumb in the first place. :~)
But me too. I grab mane. I figure.. it's going where the horse is going... the saddle may not. ;~)
Your response was spot on though. The best video to show them would be that one we posted on the thread a while back that showed The GraveDigger racking down the road next to a truck. That one was AWESOME! I wish I could find that link again. I wonder if it’s on YouTube now. This one has it in there, towards the end, but it has a lot of showring footage too.

On further review of the HF thread, it sounds like you found the better version of it. I can’t watch YouTube here so I’ll have to check it out when I get home.
Yeah - Grave Digger’s been posted. ;~)
I’m glad I didn’t say anything wrong. :~)
Aw, jeez, so sorry about your shoulder.
Sounds like he had a good reason to spin, but spins are hard to stick with.

Hey, as quiet as we’ve been the last several days, I don’t think it’d matter!
The pics were adorable! It’s so facinating the way Gidget has just taken right to the mothering role even though she’s never had any puppies of her own, and how they’ve taken to her just like she was their real mom. It wouldn’t surprise me if she started producing milk. I’ve heard of that happening before.
I’m sorry about your shoulder but that would have upset a seasoned horse I think.
I love the pictures of the kittens. Gidget is a good *mom*.
Diesel is $4.57 today and there is snow on the hills around us. Nevada is an interesting place to live, for a fact :)
I continue to marvel at Gidget, but I can’t leave her unwatched because she keeps mouthing them and trying to pick them up. She doesn’t mean harm, and she backs right off when I correct her, but I think it could be bad if I wasn’t right there.
The kittens are getting less and less tolerant about being left in that crate very long. So I’m constantly juggling animals and combinations of animals so they can get some play time. I’m not getting a dang thing done.... They need a bigger safe play pen, or better yet, new homes!
oh - and good morning! :~)
They did seem to have people much more figured out...people give food and open the door to the crate - especially if you cry really pathetically.
They’re training you. ;-)
Can’t you put them in that back bedroom you were talking about when you were thinking about trapping the older cats? I think that’s what Cav did while he was at work when he had a bunch of new kittens. The only problem I could see there is that then you couldn’t constantly watch how cute they are. ;o)
They're masters at that aren't they!
Yes, I could. It’s stacked high with frap at the moment though, and I’m not sure I’d ever find them again! That room is remarkable. I can clear everything out and turn it into a bedroom when needed, but it doesn’t stay that way. Stuff grows in it. Stacks of blankets, a camp cooler, our Christmas tree, power tools, empty boxes, pillows... Where did all that come from? It just appears.
Heh... come to think of it, I do need to get on cleaning that room out, brother is coming down next weekend.
We need to have a garage sale this summer and seriously reduce the amount of unneeded frap we have around here!
For that matter I could put them in our bedroom (not as frap-filled!) if I had another litterbox and felt sure they’d use it.
