This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I have seen morning glory seeds, blue ones just like yours... so I wondered if that’s how you started yours.
We have even some wild morning glories here, but they’re rather puny compared to yours... white or pink flowers that aren’t as big as yours and much ‘stringier’.
If Water goes over that bridge there is no way for me and 10 other families to get out. I live on a dead end road. Going up the road where that bridge is is the ONLY way out.
If they sell the seeds there then I’d say you are good to go. And what do you have to lose. A package of seed is about a dollar, and one package goes a long ways. We have the white and pink ones around here too that grow wild.
The thing about morning glories is the more water they receive the less blooms you will get but you will get more foliage. I water the garden fairly frequently in the early and middle part of summer, so during that time I get more foliage. Then when I start to get tired of the garden I slack off some, so in the fall I start getting more blooms. The poorer the soil the more blooms you get too, but the stringier they get. So my advise, water and fertilize often till you get all the foliage and good strong vines then slack off the care.

RE bridge... well, then I’d say people who would be worried about being stranded even a day or two might worry about it whether it’s a new bridge or the old one. But maybe others won’t give it much pause, particularly if they know it’s not all that common or long lasting.
re Morning glories. You’re right... I might as well plant some and see! What have I got to lose :~)
Well, we just had some severe weather pass by. The sirens sounded in Bixby, around 7:00. I was at church and someone just coming in said a tornado had been spotted, and was heading towards us...it did get dark and blow hard, and rained hard for about 5 minutes.
The storm has moved on up north, so I think we are in the clear now.

Looking forward to seeing how MG’s do for you:)

Are Bob and Hope the same color? In a couple of the shots they look the same, but then in one she looks lighter.
Yikes... close call. Did you get to see it? Where did you go in the church? Do they have a safe place?
Are those Cav’s kittens?
Ok cat people..how will Jazz get the kittens to eat food? I notice that she’s starting to break the bond. At first she stayed with them all the time purring her day away. Now she feeds them and then goes and sleeps on the coffee table..still close enough to keep an eye on them. I figure they are going on 4 weeks now. Is that old enough for me to put a bowl of kitty chow in the pen? We gave them some water tonight.
That's our almost three year old Dandie, a grulla dun. Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. She's out of a Canadian mare and a grullo quarterhorse sire. Born on the Fourth of July. It took both of us to bring her into the world, as her mom wasn't trying too hard.
She’s lovely!
They're both "technically" Blue Roans, but no two roans are ever the same color, and in my experience, no roan is ever the same color two days in a row. ;o) Hope's base color is more brownish, Bob's is more black. They'll both get more white as the summer warms up, but Hope always gets lighter then Bob.
Bear, the tail-less one closer to my head, is one of Cav’s. I have two more tail-less ones of his at the barn, and all 3 of them are just about the most lovable, people-oriented cats I’ve ever had. They all came out of the same feral mama. Cav caught them all real early and brought them in the house to raise. He never could resist a kitten. God love him, before he got sick he had at least 7 cats in the house. I sure miss him, but I think about him every time I get a kiss from one of his babies.
Those are some big ole cats!
What a fine looking filly you’ve got there! I’ve got roans, but I love a grulla too. I’ll bet y’all are proud to see that snow get on out of there. Are you riding Dandie much yet? I’ll bet you have some gorgeous places to ride!
And that's Jess, her cobby Canadian mom finaly getting with the program. Dandie was Jess' first foal, and she just wasn't working all that hard to get her born. But Jess turned out to be a good horse mom after all.
Gorgeous! Looks like she had tiger markings on her legs when she was born. That’s so cool!
This little girl has major dun factor: the facial mask, shoulder barring, zebra striping on her legs and a stripe down her back.
We can’t wait to show her. Folks will say, “What kind of horse is that?!” And we’ll say, “She’s a horse of another color.”
Roans are gorgeous. Love to see some pix of yours...
