This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Hey - you have every right to be proud. Did you get pictures?
Good evening. I’m glad you got to ride. Hoping spring is going to come to all of us.
Are you handling, or is your friend that's so good with them?
Our club hunt test is today and tomorrow, but I have one dog that's not ready for Started, and one dog that's not ready for Seasoned, so I didn't enter them.
My pup is at the trainer's for two weeks, including this weekend, so she rode down on the trailer to the hunt test. Hope she has a good time! (she'll just air and hang out with the big dogs.)
I asked Tim how she was doing, and he said she was doing o.k. . . . I asked if she was doing the drama queen bit and he said she tried it but it didn't work . . . . he said he told her, "Your mama's paying me good money to force fetch you, and I'm having a good time. Are you?"
< shudder > This is why I send my dogs away to be force fetched. It's not for the faint at heart.
Shelley is having a wonderful time being Sole Queen of the House (although she did miss Ruby at first, she's gotten over it.) My parents are in town for the week, and my mom is having a great time walking Shelley while I'm at work. Shelley loves it too! She lies at my mom's feet and gazes at her adoringly.
They will be coming after tomorrow’s show. I am just bursting with pride. They not only competed against some Shilohs; but they competed against other breeds as well.
I forgot my manners and didn’t say thank you.
Thank you.

LOL. I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes you have to do that. I can’t go because I have vertigo; so my hubby took them and my handler and his wife showed them. They have tomorrow too; so we will see what they do then. This is their first show with Rarities; and am I proud. Ron, my handler, said they were the darlins of the show and people followed them out to the car. Most have never seen a shiloh shepherd. I think that’s why and they are white sable plushcoats. I really didn’t think they would win anything; but they did and it’s just icing on the cake. I entered them because my handler, Ron, just lost his heart and soul bloodhound and is having a real tough time at it. His wife told me this really cheered him up and I am glad.
I’ll be sure to check tomorrow evening for the pictures. I’m guessing you’re walking on air right now. It is so absolutely outstanding when professional judges tell us our kids are great :)
I second that.
Congratulations on your wins! Bravo! :~)
What have you been up to today? And how come you didn’t post more pictures on the photo contest? And - yes, you can tell me to mind my own business:)
Oh - Well I wasn’t sure I had more that were worthy!
We haven’t been up to a whole lot. The weather is perfectly miserable one moment, sunny the next. It’s hard to get anything started!
This morning we took both kittens to the vets for their shots. They were good all things considered!
Then we came home and wormed the horses and checked their feet. No bungus but Bay’s feet sure are long. Farrier will probably come Tuesday, we’ll firm it up Monday.
I guess that’s not all that unproductive. Bought horse bedding too and will put that in before we feed dinner.
And what have you been up to? Any sign of baby?
No sign yet - both mares are driving me crazy. It sounds like you had a very productive day.
I can’t think of any picture you’ve posted here that wouldn’t be great on the front of a catalog - especially some on the trail with all the gorgeous trees, or of the horses playing, or working - well, any of them.
His wife is right, though, work is the best cure . . . and work with the animals the best of all.
Oh - trail pictures is a good idea... I’ll look through and submit some of those!
Not sure what you are up to but just about any of your pics could go on the front of something.
Congratulations.
They’re looking for photos for the cover of the State Line Tack and Country Supply catalogs! And paying $500 for them!
Well I’ve told you before...you have the talent and Cyn’s your moneymaker:’)
