The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

25 years ago they did me too:)...I’ve grown use to them, altho I still hate them with a passion, I can now pull them off the dogs, or myself for that matter, and take pleasure in squashing them:)

I’ve been finding a tick or two on me just about every time I ride. Most of them are still crawling around and that’s how I find them, but I found one already dug in on the top of my shoulder when I got in the shower after the last ride. I don’t know why they’re so bad this year coz we did have some decent cold temps this winter. I guess I need to go ahead and start spraying OFF on my pants legs and shoulders even though the mosquitoes and flies aren’t really out yet coz it does seem to keep them off.

We never saw one when we were down there, thank goodness, and I even got down and walked awhile on trail!

I e-mailed her today and got an automated reply that she was out of the office on Wednesday and Thursday, so I don't know where she is. I don't remember her saying anything about going out of town anytime soon.

Alas, I was not sick or out of town. My son graduated from the North East Alabama Police Academy yesterday and I went to his graduation. Wednesday I had some shopping to do so just took a half day vacation. Here is a picture of my two kids after the graduation

Ya got some good-looking kids there! Billy’s such a sweetheart. I just can’t see him being a tough ol’ cop, but I guess they learn all that at the academy. Gary doesn’t fit the typical cop personality mold either though. Both of them are nicer than the average joe.

Yeah, I’m in San Diego. My Mom and I took a vacation to go see my son. It’s the first time I’ve drove thru these mountains. At first I was slow in the slow lane and my palms were sweaty.After awhile my mom said I was getting braver though. I was going the speed limit:’). I did have one freak out moment though. My mon has arthritis and we were going up. A steep bank was on one side and and large truck on the other, and she stuck her water bottle in front of me and asked me to open it!

I went to a Walmart this morning. It is two story and has an escalator for the customer and one for the cart too.

Not yet but I’ve been checking every 30 minutes. Bob went to town (he’s back now) and both mares laid down. LOL - I immediately started running through the checklist in my head and cursing him for being gone. They were just enjoying the sun though.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to let everyone know and brag a little bit. Today my shiloh shepherds were in their very first Raritie dog show. This was the first day and they won 14 awards between them including a Reserve Best and Best of Breed for each.

This Mommy is very proud.
