This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
That foal...I wonder if he will have forgotten about this by now or if walking over things that give will be his boogie now.
Mamma cat is pretty smart too. She was wanting in the back door and went to the garage and cried for me to open it. Then she went back to the back door and wanted out. My husband calls her Charlie. Shrug. She’s either a she or a big belly he. We aren’t allowed to look yet:’)
I had spaghetti and meatballs with a spinach salad. Then I passed out on the couch with a book, which means that I did not get back upstairs to load pictures. (Which I am doing right this second)
You’ve got the Ol’ BayMan looking good there. And you can’t even tell that hole was ever there. Good job!
Bummer about the job situation Beaker. I know that gets old in a hurry. Hang in there. Hopefully they'll be hiring some more folks to help out pretty soon.
Poor ol' Susie! She don't know what to do with herself when she's home alone after having you there all that time.
The Credence concert sounds cool. I think they call themselves Credence Clearwater Reunion now, since John Fogarty went out on his own. I think they were over in Tunica at one of the casinos there not too long ago and I heard a commercial for it.
We went to the horse camp and rode that trail first, then decided to pay a visit to a waterfall that's 3 or 4 miles down the road from there. Since it's been raining quite a bit here lately we figured it would be flowing full bore and worth the trip.
Boy was it!!...
And of course I had to go find a way to climb around behind it, so I went across this big poplar tree that had fallen across the stream...
The view from behind it, looking back at the log I just crossed. That's Shirley there on it...
A zoom fromt he same spot that I thought turned out really well...
Shirley back up at the top of the falls. I guess it was probably 60 feet or so, based on Shirley's height of 6 feet...
Looking back down the log I walked across...
We probably spent at least an hour down there. It was fun! I've got some video clips too but they take a while to upload. I'll post links to them later.
Terrific! Neat places! Neat falls! Applause!
I couldn’t walk across that log... always had a phobia about the balance beam :~)
Happy Easter Everyone!
I imagine that foal will have a life long problem with water if nothing else.
Sounds like momma cat has adopted you guys :)

LOL - did I sound impatient there? Well, it sounds like you had a great dinner though - one of my favorites.
What a beautiful waterfall. The country is gorgeous there. There is a park up at Tahoe that has waterfalls throughout. I love the drive through and it always amazes me that all that water is so close to me - yet so far away :)
I’ll have to get out one of these days and take some pictures of the Carson River, it’s only a couple of miles away.
Happy Easter to you too :) Hope you have a great day.
Do that! With those mountains in the background I'll bet it's gorgeous.
You just reminded me to take my camera to work tomorrow. I was driving in last week trying to count the number of mountain ranges I see coming and going, so I could tell you all.
Great pictures!
So what would you do? Work with him on water exercises or just leave him alone until problems show?
I’d just leave him alone in so far as water is concerned except for bathing and have to walk through water to get to the water trough. Then when he’s older, work on water with him along side older, seasoned horses.
I was just out brushing Farah. Boy, she sure doesn’t look like she’ll make it until April 1st to foal. She is heavily bagged up, tail muscles are jello, she’s miserable. April 1st will only be 324 days though, and I sure don’t want a foal earlier than that.
