This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Technically I guess I do since I keep it on. I’ve got one of those super consciousness though and log my time out when house search comes on. The rest I can just listen to while I work:’)
Yeah. I used to have one that would tell me to “hold my horses” when I would tell her to “go”.
I tried to train Sissy, the preg. one. She never did anything until I took her out in the pasture (didn’t have a round pen then) and was kicking, slaping, knocking trying to get her to go. She went, but it was straight up. She went to the trainer the next day. He did a good job though. She never did it again.
Most of my mares wait for me - at least it seems like that. They have the babies at convenient times (usually eventing). I think after they foal here once and find out we come running to help and to give bran and molasses mash they are hooked :)
My first day back to work after I’ve been off for awhile always kills me. I can’t imagine standing at a cash register all day being nice :) Congratulations, you’re already ahead of me. I can’t run a cash register and I can’t be nice for 8 hours straight. Keeping my fingers crossed and prayers going that all works out great for you. You’ve made a great start.
I hope she does. It is her first one. She will be 4 in June. I fed her myself as much as possible over the weekend and gave her peppermints today. It is still a couple of weeks before the 340 day chart says. I don’t think she’ll go that long. She looks dropped and full to me.
I think she’ll go the 340-342 days. I looked at the picture you took and her belly hasn’t dropped yet (at least it doesn’t look like it) Is she really soft and squishy on either side of her tail?
Oh - I like that kitchen. That will lots of windows and plants will be great.
I love spring when the babies start being born.
I’ve never seen a dishwasher like that.
How does your hubby feel about his cat adopting you?
Oh I bet Sassy is beautiful when she sheds out.
No. I looked at that today ‘cause the book said they usually get indentions around the croup. I took a pic of her boobs, too, but didn’t think anybody would want to look at that. Her belly is hanging down, but she didn’t really look sway-backed. I guess she’s just big.
Hey - this is the Saddle Club. We’re always interested in mares bagging up :)
It is my favorite time of the year, too. The pear and other fruit trees have started blooming & thank goodness we’re getting spring rains after last years drought. More rain & storms pred. for Tues/Wed.
I don’t have anything else pregnant right now. Gave the cats birth control pills.
LOL - this is going to work out :)
My husband said “I think she wants in the house” No kidding. I give him a week and she will be laying on his desk.
I’ve just always considered Sassy a brat. She’s just now looking like a real horse instead of a baby. You just can’t get her off of you if you have a bucket in your hand.
I picked about 4 dozen oranges today. Way too many for us but the birds were wasting them. The tree looked so pretty. Now it’s just green. I started my garden today too.
