FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 12

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:33:14 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

The best think I like about my kitchen is that I had the cabinets set wide from the walls and wide counters installed and new ends for the cabinets made. Much used appliances are in reach without giving up counter space.

Yeah, I’m sure it always looks like that. Both her and her husbands are obsessive neat freaks:). This house is decorated very nicely, but in the past I always thought she had way to much nick nakky stuff.

I had a good time. She called all my other cousins that still live in that town and we all meet for lunch at an old chicken restaurant that we always ate at as kids. So that was fun.

That’s really nice. Are you going to have a dishwasher? The next that I get will be a pull out drawer. I’m tired of trying to roll mine back in.

I watch the Home channel at lot. They have a new one that is like a drawer. I don’t like a lot of the “in things” but that caught my eye. The old ones are on rollers and you have to avoid the jet and sometimes it’s just a pain to get it back in.

I’ve seen those, and they are cool:)...I’m going to look at all kinds, cost will be a big factor...I’m not going in debt for anything.

What are you guys talking about? Rollaway dishwashers? If you’re building new, why not just have an installed unit?

That’s a really nice, big kitchen. Glad you had a nice visit w/your family.

We were in the barn (tin) when the bottom fell out after lunch yesterday. It hailed some and it was so hard and loud you couldn't hear a thing but Sassy banging on the gate trying to get in. She didn't like it at all and got as far under the eave as she could. We got stuck out there 'cause we were trimming Sissy's hooves. It only lasted 10-15 min. and Hal checked the gauge and had 3/4 inch just from that. Here's Sissy's pregnant pic. Still no baby.

It is built in...it’s a drawer tho instead of a fold down door...In fact I think some of them have a top and bottom drawer, and you can set it for small loads so that only one of the drawers is being used.

The older ones...the built ins...you open the door and roll the rack out on tracks on the lowered door. You’ve seen them. The new ones look like a cabinet drawer and you load like putting in a box. Just looks easier to stack and roll.

Yeah well...I don't care what they say...I like my popcorn ceilings, old fashioned cabinets and white appliances . I don't need every room of the house painted a different color either. The lady and her daughter would have a field day assessing my home:’)

I don’t mind the look of the popcorn ceiling but they’re a pain to paint. I don’t mind old fashioned cabinets or white appliances either! But I do like color in paint :~)

Some is good. My den is a tangerine color. Very pretty. I see rooms that are light and airly and they re-make them with dark colors though. It’s supposed to be romantic but it looks drab to me and I’m thinking it looked nice the way it was. I like a lot of sunlight .

A warning...this is what happens when you review charts at night. You watch the Home Network Channel. House # 1, 2 or 3?

I love that show. I watch it on HDTV and a whole lot more decorating shows, when I can get the remote! Do you get paid for watching that?

We had another training session with Sassy after we rode today. She did good. Just hard to get forward motion unless she is following one of us. Better than bucking and rearing. Hal took our pic. She's the 22 mo. old black TWH. Hasn't shed off faded winter hair yet.
