This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I was thinking that closing the door would make her safer from other animals but if it bothers her I guess leave it up a bit. Just make sure she has food and water.
I thought about leaving it closed for awhile and then opening it back up after she checks out the box. She seemed ok now.
Maybe keep it closed and just check on her periodically, because she may want to go out if she's not ready to deliver yet.
There may be a good deal of wandering around nesting and meowing before she goes into contractions.
That was my biggest worry - just keeping her safe through delivery.
Not a problem any longer it seems. I opened the garage door and she didn’t want out any more....In fact she wants in the house. She “ain’t” having kittens in my bed. She sure went from wild to tame real fast.
Okay. Just leave her alone, shut the garage, and check tomorrow morning :)
I took a pic. It’s with the 100 or so others I have taken but not developed yet:’)
Well, unless you can give her a room in the house where she’s safe and alone. Not a good time for young people to be around, they might get bit.
Well I shut the garage. You know I’ll peek though:’)
She’s staying in the garage.
Boy, we’re going to have an outstanding thread when you finally get them developed :) What does she look like?
LOL - somehow I had a feeling you’d say that. That would be my solution too.
Have fun playing with it. That should keep you busy for a while. Takes times to get settings and programs like you like. Sounds like the Rolls Royce of computers.
Green eyes. A young size cat. Black , orange and I think some white but she looks dusty.
I want so badly to scale back on work. All our kids are grown and gone and Hal is retired. I’m 51 and don’t want to give up buying what I want without asking for money. I am going to check out the work at home thing Cindydog sent me.
Thank goodness Hal does housework or mine would be very dusty.
That is wild. I slept through 4/3/74 tornadoes and 13 people in my town were killed. Some in my class. The one 2/6/08 was the other side of my town and killed my sister-in-law, her husband and their 19 yo son. Terrible. I have been divorced from her brother for 10 years, but we hung out and double dated since we were in high school. We are thinking seriously of installing one of those fiberglass balls underground.
I bet it’s a calico and her first litter. Sounds very much like one of my feral cats. She’s black and white and orange.
You can write the University of Oklahoma, they have a department that deals in depth with tornado shelters. They were very helpful! They told us that you can't put a shelter in a crawlspace (it's the worst kind of house to have in a tornado). The only thing you can do is dig out one of those fiberglass shelters in the yard -- but the problem we have here is shelving rock and the ground water is right on the surface. The ball would wind up floating up out of the ground!
I’m so sorry to hear that. What a tragedy.
Water is a problem here to but people manage to keep septic tanks in. Maybe if you could somehow weight the bottom they wouldn’t float.
