This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Man oh man. Mucho Jealous-o over here. :-)
What would you do different if it was 5 o clock right now?
Well that time when we got a sprinkling on Christmas day:’) He’s a good all weather driver though.
Well, we aren’t too much further south than you are we? Our sunset will be at 6:04 tonight. It gets dark as early as 4:30 in winter.
I take that back, then. Perhaps we’re about the same.
Hubby is a chemist also. Fireworks are a lifelong hobby, he used to work for Zambelli and fired displays at GA Tech.
“Give the gift that keeps on giving — a pregnant cat.”
Well hey, that’s pretty cool. :-)
lol. Have to catch her first.
We came in 2nd in the PGI convention amateur (home made) fireworks contest in Muskegon MI some time in the 70s. Hubby's grand finale was a German Al/perchlorate 'salute' (i.e. an aerial shell that makes a big flash and a loud BANG) that was a real chest-thumper. And it was so bright that all the streetlights turned themselves off. The guy who beat us had Japanese chrysanthemum shells, no way we could top that, but for sheer noise and power we had everybody beat!
After 9-11 and the attendant furore hubby gave away all his stuff or flushed it. As he says, there used to be a 'boys will be boys' attitude about fireworks, but not any more. When he was a teenager the local police would confiscate his stuff and then set it off themselves. But now, some poor student down at GA Tech got charged with terrorism for setting off a dry ice/water bomb in a 2 liter Coke bottle, the things we got away with we probably SHOULD have been charged but weren't. But nobody has a sense of humor about this stuff any more.
Morning. We’ve already gotten over an inch of rain again this morning and giving 3-5 inches of snow for the next 2 days. Not looking like a good weekend to ride.
We finally got power to the barns. Yea!!
Now for the water.
The see-saw sounds like quite a challange. We don’t have stuff like that to go to that I know about.
Well, y’all did say you wanted rain....
Good morning!
Well, y’all did say you wanted rain....
Good morning!
WOO HOO!!
That'll make feeding in the evening a whole lot easier.
Yes we did, and I ain’t complaining. I just hope we continue to get it on through the summer, then maybe hay won’t be so expensive, coz dang, we need a break on SOMETHING. With fuel prices as high as they are it’s making feed and everything else go up too.
