FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 12

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:33:14 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Mine would be pretty easy over all. They are all accustomed to ground work, couple have even worked with a saddle on - I guess they probably could go to riding by day three. However, working them from 8am to 3pm every day wouldn’t go over very well. Probably by day three of 6 hours each they’d be bucking and snorting and kicking.

LOL! Ain't it the truth!

(of course, the guys do wonder why their horses are all going hollow backed with their noses in the air, with the martingale as stiff as a tow rope).

Good Morning everyone.

Duchess, that colt starting clinic sounds interesting. Have you had any news on what's going to happen with your new colt?

I don't have any horsey news, but in other news, my computer has shipped. It left Austin yesterday, and I keep checking the shipping status to see if it has updated. One of the hubs is in Providence Rhode Island, and I'm close enough so that I have half of a mind to just drive down and get it off of the plane. :-) Save the FedEx guys the trouble.

We gotta little touch of Spring here this morning. My pansies and violas are happy about it anyways, and I've got some tulip leaves poking their heads out too...

Flowers! I want to plant flowers :~)

Where’s Becky anyway? We haven’t heard from her since she was buried in snow.

I bought these back in the fall and they’ve had their highs and lows over the Winter as they’ve frozen and thawed, but they’ve really started to perk up these last few weeks with some of the 70* days we’ve had. You really just can’t beat pansies and violas for a little Winter and early Spring color to put you in the mood to get the garden going again.

Beautiful:)....I never did get any pansies in this year, and I miss them.

The snow is gone, but we could get some more today, after yesterday being very nice....crazy weather. I hate this time of year. Next week the forecast is 60’s-70’s, I’m trying to get my mind around riding some. It needs to be done.

Yesterday I kept Tucker and JP all day, Tucker and I built a snowman, then in the afternoon JP and I went to the ball fields and flew a kite. We didn’t do very well, but it was fun.

Maybe she's started her new job?

Ah - well good to hear from you! Maybe I could get some pansies, I haven’t had good luck with them staying good but they do sometimes appear earliest in the stores.

Ooops, your right no pictures.

I did hear from Walmart yesterday...I did pass the drug test:), and am officially hired. Now they are waiting for several more people to be hired so we can all go thru orientation together...I swear you’d think I was trying to get a government job.

Oh good, you’re here. I just didn’t wait long enough.

So when DO you start the new job, and did the guy ever call you back about Harley?

I guess I will start when they have a full quota of new hires to start...

No the guy never called back about Harley...

I’m not sure either if I will take them to that sell the end of this month. I think they need to be in better shape to get the most out of them...so I’m going to have to ride. Hopefully once I get started it won’t be so bad. I am going to wait till the weather is warmer, but next week is looking good. Even if I go to work, I’ll have time.

Becky

Well that's rude! He could've at least let you know if he decided on another one instead of just leaving you hanging.
