FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 12

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:33:14 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Well, can you put one of the other horses up in there with her for some company?

And tell Hal that if he keeps letting her out and she aborts or has trouble that you’re going to personally make his life a living hell. Arrrrggghh!!!

I bought a Dell XPS 410. It’s a monster. :-) 2.4 gHz Intel quad core processing, (2 Core 2 Duo processors) 500 gig hard drive, 4 MB of 800 Mhz RAM, a DVD/RW drive, a NVIDA graphics card, it’s cable ready, so I can just hook up my cable to it and use it as a TV, and it has an LCD panel on the top so that I can view pictures (?) That part I don’t understand too well. I haven’t gotten it yet, (bought it last night,) but I’m wicked excited.

I only know what PART of that means and I’m way impressed. To think the 1st one I had was the lastest thing and was a 256 mb HD.

The quad core processors were an accident. I meant to get just one, but didn’t realize it till I saw the invoice. Whoops. Call it a happy accident. :-) I’m really excited and can’t wait to get it. I’ve never actually had an honest-to-goodness new computer before, they’ve all been hand-me-downs. So this one makes up for it all :-)

Glad your cat is home.
I am getting ready to go riding in the mountains with a bunch of old men. Hal (hubby), too. I get to try out the Dr. Cook bitless bridle I got on Ebay. It’s supposed to be in 60 range today and 70 tomorrow. They are giving snow and high of 38 for Tues. How’s that for roller coaster weather?

Well y’all have fun and take pictures!

I’m fixing to go to the barn for a bit and then on to the Home and Building Show. I’ll check with you this evening about where we’re gonna ride tomorrow.

Good morning.

I’m glad your cat is back Beaker:)

We are suppose to get to the 70’s today. The kids are all coming up this afternoon to start getting the dead fall in my yard from the ice storm cleaned up.

The farrier came yesterday and shod Harley, and pulled the shoes and trimmed Rocky. Altho they were way way past due he said they were both still in good shape. I figured we lost ground in getting Harley’s feet that we had gained. But he said sometimes it’s good to let them get overgrown some.

Well good that his feet were good. Thrush all gone?

Rainy day today, not sure what we’re going to do with it.

Today my first order of business is to get Harley’s stall mucked out...I hate to admit it, but it hasn’t been done since Mack got sick, Looks like Mt. Everest in his stall:(, no wonder he got thrush. Stupid horse...comes in from the pasture to go in his stall to poop, then back out. Rocky has never pooped in his stall.

Then I will help the kids with the clean the limbs, I’ll be in charge of keeping the fire going, and will also get all the frap in the yard cleaned up, it’s a mess.

Today is just a general clean up day.

Well the stall sounds like a day’s worth of project all by itself.

But fires are always fun :~)

Yeah, it’s going to be a job.

I think we are going to push/pull as much as we can without cutting into the arena and burn it there. The back of the house is where it’s going to be difficult, not much room there. My main concern is getting the limbs that broke half way and are hanging over the house rubbing the roof. I’m afraid they could be damaging the shingles.

Those limbs are heavy to drag around too. You've got tough trees! It's easy to say I wish I could be there to help. Good luck with it!

I believe we will probably drag them with the truck...the bobcat is down again:(.

Behind the house they will have to be cut up in pieces to be carried and loaded into the back of the truck.

OK:) It’s been so long since I’ve taken any pictures, I’ve been forgetting about doing it. I should have gotten some last week of everyone riding Harley.
