This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Thanks for the update. I’m glad to hear Rocky is okay.
It’s gorgeous. I love it all, the house, the barn and the fencing are beautiful. I lived in pine country in NC. Dafodils did great there, and four o’clocks. And Mimosa trees.

Hey MissTargets......how is life in NE Ohio? My husband is up there right now moving his Dad from assisted living to a nursing home. He’s 93 and needs too much help for assisted living. I’m sure that this is pretty close to the end. No way to wind up, I pray the Lord will take me prior to the indignity of being bedridden and incontinent.......there is no dignity in that.
I do love it here. Everyone is very friendly because most everyone is from somewhere else and is in the same boat of having to make new friends. The trails in our subdivision are gorgeous and extensive. You could ride for hrs. It will be 78 tomorrow so I cant say that I miss the cold.
I will take my camera on the next ride and show you all the trails.
Things have settled down and the barn is done so I have more time to chill out and read the posts/ Life is getting closer to normal....thank God.
He was feeling a bit snorty wasn’t he. I love it when they do that big loud blasting snort that sounds like a fire extinguisher. So funny! But he’s definately better, so I’d try to stick with that farrier if he’s willing to keep shoeing him.
The other good news? Bay was SHEDDING!
Spring ain’t here yet, it’s going to be nasty out the next couple of days... but my horse is optimistic. :~)
Good morning :~)
Yeah - I’ll stick with this farrier till he tells me someone else to call, for sure.
I never did see what was making him snort. He started out with the looking and snorting at that back corner before the video started... it took awhile to get him to ‘work’ at all, he was just blowing and acting like there were tigers out there. :~o
My old horse Tennessee does this all the time, and when he gets fixated on something like that it’s nearly impossible to get him to quit it. He won’t even come in to eat. He just alternately either stands there like he’s on tippy-toes and stares, or paces around and snorts and stares, and if you said “boo” to him he’d have a heart attack. Goofy horse!
Goofy indeed. I liked how he was feeling, whatever caused it. I was happy that he had all his suspension back in his trot, not worrying about his feet at all. And it’s usually a good sign when I can’t get him away from me. When he hurts he doesn’t like tight circles.
Anyway, now I just wish it would clear up and dry out a ~little~ so I can start working him up a little more seriously. It’s awfully slippery out there still, too slippery to canter or work on his poles and cavaletti.
I may start doing a little bareback walking... I won’t put my saddle near him till I can clean him up and clip him. :~\
I sure am glad that Rose convinced you to go to the doctor yesterday! I don’t see how on earth you didn’t have a stroke with BP that high. I’ll be praying for you that they find out what it is and get you on the right meds to get it under control.
I don’t think it’s a good sign that we haven’t heard from you yet... did you NOT get the new keyboard yesterday?
Type us some jibberish if you’re there with a still-broken keyboard! b:~)
Hello:)
No I didn’t get a new keyboard yesterday, but I did get one today. But right now I’m in town, and just remembered that I could post a message here.
The video of Bay, is hilarious:), I love when they snort like that. He sure looks like he feels fine.
It turned cold and nasty here today, I’ve been sitting here watching some more of Season 3 of Lost. I’ve been recording season 5 but haven’t watched any.

Frog the picture of the cliff is really pretty. Looking forward to someday seeing it for real:)

Oops, season 4:)
Becky
He was awful full of himself!
Glad you logged in. I was about to say if you’re not going to the store on the way home, take that keyboard with you!
So you’re a whole season behind still... well, get through it and catch up! We’re so far really happy with Season 5. Season four tested my patience at times.
ummm... yeah = season whatever... ;~)
LOL...your currently watching season 4, I’m about 1/2 thru season 3.
