This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Maybe since ecurbh’ll be at work we can assign the flight tracking to 2J!
Oh my, with our time difference you’re going to be dead when you get here. Probably more the next day tho that will show. But you’ll have the RV all to yourself that night, so you can sleep in as much as you want. And about that. I sure hope you being in the RV is OK. You can sleep in the house if you prefer. I kind of feel bad you being out there the first night all by yourself. But I did go out there last night a bit, and it’s very peaceful and quiet, and right next to the house, so we are close.

Well I’m back from the show. I didn’t place, but I did accomplish all of my personal goals for today’s ride. It was my first time out in a long time, so all I wanted to do was get through the test, and I did, so that’s all that matters. The show photographer should be posting pictures in a couple of days.
LOL.
I watched that show Flight 93 the week before I came to Wa. Not a smart move.

Beaker, sorry you didn’t place, but congratulations on the good ride. Did you at least get some good constructive comments from the judge?
I forgot to feed the horses this morning!
I’m so wrapped up in preparations and posting and thinking about the trip, I just forgot! I went out about mid morning and took their blankets off, I remembered to do that! But I commented, “wow... they ate all their hay already!” It wasn’t till I went back in the house for awhile... about noon, that I thought, you know... they’re still standing around looking at me, they’ve been talking to me every time I walk out the door... ~Maybe~ they don’t just adore me.
I have my 3 grandkids this weekend. We were supposed to go out of town but the best plans and all....Anyway I took them to a corn maze. We had a lot of fun but were a little short on navigational skills. There were rides there too. One was a pony ride (excuse me..the 7 year old is reading over my shoulder and says the one he rode was not a pony but a horse). They had a bar in front and a bar in the back. Too slow for the 5 year old. He kept nudging his pony who tried to speed up. I told him to stop that and he told me "but that's how you make them go"
LOL...I’ve done that before. When you finally realize you have forgotten, it’s like, Noooo....I didn’t forget, I never forget....
Jenny and Tucker was here and just left. Helped kill the day for me. Tomorrow I have the mowing to do, so that will kill tomorrow. Tues. is going to be a long day, just waiting. I’m ready for it to start.

I did get some good notes from the judge, and my next ride will be a complete 160 from the ride that I put in today. I just did one test today instead of two. It was just to get in, do the test and get out, just to get used to how he is in the show ring, and to give him some exposure to new things. He was good, did a lot of talking and looking and blowing, but we didn’t have any blowups, just one semi one when we tried to tie him to the trailer and he just about sat himself down. He was really good in the ring, though and took good care of me.
Hey, the corn maze and the pony rides sound like the perfect afternoon for a kid! What fun! :-) Is it me, or is FR being really slow tonight?
And uh, by 160 I mean 180. :-p
I was gonna say... That only puts you going about southeast ;~)
Those pictures do look funny, but the video more than makes up for it. Good job!
Ecurbh’s squatting pictures are just downright hysterical though.
But that said, I've just gotta add....
WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!
