This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Pony was good through the night. She got to join everyone else in the barn, so no way to limit hay there. She was good. I checked on her several times before bed and at midnight, 3, and 5 when I night wandered.

Oh dear... working the desk? Will you have internet access?

I’m just going to be there letting people in the tanning booths, and cleaning the beds after each person tans, (you wouldn’t believe the amount of sweat that comes off people in those things in just 11 minutes, puddles, ack:), and signing up new tanners that come in.

Mack’s office is next door, so I can run over and look at a computer now and again between customers, but mostly, no I won’t have internet access. I don’t think customers should have to track me down to be able to get in the booths...so I have to be careful about being there.

I was really surprised by the amount of sweat people leave in those things...

Fun....:) well, it will give me a good chance to read a book I’ve been wanting to read, and catch up on some movies that I haven’t seen, there is a TV with a DVD player there....With the weather so nice, I’m planning on sitting out on the sidewalk while it’s in the shade, reading and watching town life go by, then when it’s hot watch a movie.

I thought you were still having fairly warm weather.

Yes, it has been really nice and warm. Today, is cooler because of the rain yesterday. Temps in the high 60's. The leaves are just starting to turn color. It should be a nice drive for me in a few weeks. Although it will be a rather long one.

Great news everyone!

I got the job that is near me! I got the first shift like I wanted and I got a great salary! Woo! I tried to negotiate a start date that was after the Oklahoma trip, but I can't have everything, sadly, so it looks like I really won't be coming. :-( I'm sad about that, but hopefully there will be another get together in the future. Perhaps it is for the better, because I'm finally starting to feel better, and I would hate to crash and burn.

Congrats Beaker on the job! Being closer, means not so much of a terrible commute.

Beautiful day here and Amy and I are going to the horse sale. Ben is in Columbus helping set up for Quarter Horse Congress and Alison is at her other grandparents. Biscuit is sold to a girl who is going to ride her English. She is going to be here for a few weeks, then going to an English barn.

Chaser (Dakota’s horse) is here, PJ, Jody and the pony. Amy did not have Biscuit listed for sale, but she knows the girl from 4-H and Dakota brought her over to see Biscuit. Amy doesn’t get that much time to ride anyways and she will have a great home.
