This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Speaking of crates, today I got Barkley's crate all ready to hold kittens again, which Wicket and Tweek found fascinating.
They were in the way But I got it all arranged in spite of them, and then they had a nap in it.
So tonight I'll start setting the trap and see if I can get those two kittens.
LOL...I know he’d be telling me I let Susie get by with way to much:) She’s the pack leader:)
Because he has such a charming smile while does it. :~D
That looks very comfortable and interesting from a cats point of view:)
I think I’ve gotten pretty good at designing cat habitat. :~)
Needs a little hanging ball, but we’ll get them in here and settled down before they’ll probably want to play with a ball.
Grizzly did something interesting the other night. He very very seldom barks even when outside. I was in the kitchen, and he barked, I could tell he was going out the door, it was open. I stepped around the corner to see what was up, and he was coming back in and looked anxious. I walked to the door and flipped on the outside light and there was a copperhead laying on the patio. Makes me wonder if he’s been bitten before. I wacked it’s head off, but have been worrying about where the other one is. I’ve always found two when I’ve found one, and have been told they travel in pairs. I’m just hoping the other isn’t in the house somewhere, and am depending on him to let me know if it shows up.
Doesn't he tho:)
The only problem I would have in following his advice is his insistence on all that dog walking. I wouldn’t follow through with that. Maybe it’s not necessary after you get the basic order established again, I’m sure he doesn’t walk all of his every day. They just live in the yard, or whatever that big lot of his is.
The thing I’ve wondered about him is he’s obviously ‘got it’ he can get through to any dog. But can those people he works with keep it up when he leaves? Maybe it’s like Parelli. The man is talented, but what he’s got, other people may not be able to copy.
First of all... Wow.... yikes!
Second of all... Wow... yikes!
I couldn't sleep if there might be a snake.
I think the same thing. It’s obvious from the follow up stories about the people it takes them more time to get thru to the dogs after he’s left. He would be a hard act to follow.
Heh... the funny thing is I’ve seen him bit twice, and both times it was little yapper dogs. Never the red zone pit bull. Not yet anyway. ;~)
I’ve been flipping on a lot more lights at night when I get up and walk around then I use too:) and I leave the front porch light on so I’m not walking across the patio in the dark.
I’ve been suspicious for awhile there might be a snake out there. Lots of times Susie has been obviously chasing something under the ornamental grass. I’ve looked but hadn’t found anything, but heard rustling sounds. I figured snakes, rabbits, or mice.
I saw an English Bulldog get him once on the hand. The owner started crying, and he just laughed said it was nothing but a scratch.
I’m not sure if I saw the bulldog or not. It sortof rings a bell but not sure.
I saw him get bit by a little white fluff dog that wouldn’t let you trim it’s face. Nasty little thing...
And the other one I think was a chiuaaua - however you spell that.
Well, speaking of the dogs, I need to get home, I’ve been here all day. I hate to leave tho since we’ve actually been talking some:) But I may go down to the kids for a while tonight. It’s raining so Charlie won’t work, and I haven’t seen him in a few days. So I need to get home to see the dogs for a while before I leave again.
Did I mention I’m going to be on a bowling league with my brother and a few other friends:) I am trying to do some things:)
Well good! Keep those lights on!
~shudder~
We don’t have poisonous snakes. Not in my comfort zone at all.
Bowling? Really! Well, sounds fun. Talk to you later... I need to vacuum and then bathe before ecurbh gets home... I’ve been sweatin’ all day, it’s dang hot.
Well I didn’t leave after all. I had two cars pull in my lot. I don’t feel like messing with a tow truck so I put notes on their windshields.
“Private Lot, as the signs indicate. You will be towed next time.”
I’m nosey:) I want to see their reactions:)
Yeah, bowling:) I think it will be alot of fun.
So what... now you have to wait till they have a burger?
