This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Good morning and thank you :)
Your horses look great. Those wide open spaces would make me nervous:) I’d be afraid the horses would see them, and just decide to go and not stop:). I know they don’t really do that, but it’s always what I think when I come to open spaces, and we don’t have any as open as that.
LOL - and I look at all the pictures you all post with the trees and creeks and think my horses would be sure there were horse eating things behind every tree and in every puddle.
We went on a great ride yesterday, finally made it around Trail 10 which we hadn't been on yet this year. Becky, this would have been the first ride we went on when you were here.
I won't post the pics all here, but I posted them over at HGS forum, which I've been calling home more since horse.com is still only half functioning.
Trail Riding, Capital Forest WA again... new pictures and video! - Horse Forums (HGS)
There's pics and video... :~)
Thanks, I enjoyed the ride on Bay. :)
Wow Duchess! Those pics are GREAT! Slick and Tuffy look like they’re going fantastic too. I wondered what you were talking about when you said they’d gone to “The Gym”. Now I see! I’ll bet that was quite a workout to get up to that overlook. I love those views, and the sky is so blue, it’s just breathtaking! Thanks!
Rocky is so cute! He looks like he’s just demanding “Look at me! I’m cute!”
Hair great pictures and video. I really can't remember anything from the pictures...still enjoy seeing the ferns.
This is what we are doing today. Putting up signs. Charlie got this one up facing the park, and is not working on the one facing the lot. Then we have two customer parking only signs we will put on each side by the driveways. I'll get pictures of them when we are thru, but I think the building signs turned out pretty nice.
Aw - very good sign for the building. Good move!
It was a good day for the ferns, it rained a bit the last few days and everything is all perky again.
The neat thing is that she took it all in stride. For Dandie, it was all very interesting and she behaved herself very, very well.
Looking at your pictures again and wondering, do you trailer the horses to ride here, or can you get here from your horse?
Good Job! Congrats on the ribbons! Sounds like she’s really shaping up to be a nice level-headed horse, the kind that’s a joy to ride. You’ve got every right to be proud and do a little crowing! Thanks for sharing your excitement!
The sign looks great Becky! Now people can say they work in “The McDonnell Building”. Sounds very professional!
And about the customer parking signs, you ought to put one out that says “Violators will be towed at their own expense.” Maybe that’ll stop ‘em.
I’m not ignoring your pics, I just can’t see ‘em from here. I’ll check ‘em out when I get home. I’m glad y’all got to ride again.
I did register over on HGS but haven’t gotten approved to post yet. I put you down as a reference so maybe they’ll let me in. ;o)
Dang, I spelled it wrong and I was looking right at it! I guess I get the two "L"s on my mind and the two "N"s just pop right in there too. Sorry 'bout that!
I did get the notification that you’d signed up. It usually takes a few hours or less for the full approval thingy. :~)
Sorry- I used photobucket, that’s the problem.
Speaking of pics, check out this one of a friend's mare...
That's what a good Walking Horse ought to look like! Forget those big old padded up feet!
I agree... good looking mare!
Since I don’t use photobucket for video any more, I should clean it out and make an album just for pics and such, it’s a mess right now, all jumbled together.
I wondered about trailering also.
Your pictures and video were great. Riding at a gait would be endless there. Beautiful sky, mountains, horses.
