Well... dunno.
There’s a back history to the place stuck in my head as well.
And other stuff.
Place names, languages, animals, plants, oddities and curiosities of nearly an entire world.
Then there’s the Norkell.
House sized migratory rabbits that show a hint of self awareness, but disinterest in the ‘little squeaky humans’ around them.
The Gworath wolf people, some could call them werewolves, but they’re bipedal wolves all the time, a nomadic tribe that lopes along in long strides with most of their belongings on wheeled carts.
Shennites, outsiders, people who in the time Karsh was born were shunned and excluded.
By the time of the tale, they are everywhere, and one is hard pressed to tell them apartt from ‘everyone else’.
The Realm of the Eternal, initially I was calling it Kentothe, I plagiarised the idea for the place from a certain book known as Genesis as in “Leave the land you are now in and I shall lead you to a land..etc etc”.
The Eternal brought some, ironically enough, Shennites westward to the place of the Realm some 10K years prior and established a kingdom.
So it is hard, at times, to ‘know’ what to put where and make things easily explainable.

Well, they’ve told me how it ends.
I have to get out of them how it began.
They don’t seem to like to remember that part.

"Isn't it best (my creative writing course talking now), to write up character sketches, like, everything about a character....on a piece of paper (or however many it takes)....get them "out of your head" and onto paper....then just start writing the story..." Characters develop along with the story. It is probably best to write down the characteristcs as they appear. A character sketchbook, if you will.
Let's say you decide your character was born in the Winter. Jot it down.
Later when he is asked his birthdate, you can check your notes.
The problem for many is that trying to put all the traits together at the beginning is like shuffling cards or rolling dice for a role-playing game. It lacks a feeling of reality.

“Us Canadians are pretty pretty, you know.”
And not just the birds that fly past me every winter and spring.
(You have to admit, when I start being serious, it’s time to break the bulb in the lamp and zap me with the exposed filaments a few times.)

To describe the land, you could send someone on a journey or quest.
Perhaps someone needs to find Karsh, but can only track him by his sojourns along the way.
Then you could have interesting folk tell of how things used to be, and perhaps how the passing of Karsh affected their change.
Or your traveler could be a quest-harvester, seeking to put the elements together for his songstory.

One time, several years ago, I was going to post something to sionnsar, as well as someone else, and after five or six tries, I had to find him in the forum and copy and paste his name.
Then I went to bed. And cried. Now I feel really bad. I knew "sionnsar" wouldn't be easy for Anglophones (the double-n, doncha know), but I didn't think it would be difficult. Maybe an Admin God could change me to "s"? Nope, that's taken.

Hmm..
In the second, er, third book, Karsh starts out as a ghost.
Could be that the first ‘two’ are the narrated, sorta, tales of how he got to be a ghost living in exile in the Frost Wastes.
