Morning, 'Face!
Resting up? Not really. Checking up on the world, preparing to update my blog (I was too tired last night), and then... I sit down and try to finish writing up my analysis of a dangerously stupid proposal a federal department has crafted and put out for comment. I've already got our state attorney general primed for it, and hope to bring in a few state legislators to weigh in against it also. Unpleasant work, but somebody has to do it.

Folks here aren’t used to “high” humidity. For at least the last two months, we’ve rarely been above 9%.
So this is knocking people out. There are quite a few shelters for the elderly, that only open once the temps get above 105. A lot of people can’t tolerate that, even if it’s 6% with a 12 MPH breeze.
NDOT even has road “rescue” crews that handle up to 30 incidents a day for broken down cars. They come equipped with plenty of water, and all the crews are medically trained. Otherwise, they’ll fix your flats, charge your battery, or get you a tow truck.

It was 120 here, “officially” (at the Hooterville airport) yesterday, and I took a half-mile walk in it... ;o]o

I feel a lot better about 85 degrees after hearing about 120. Although even at 85 here in MI the humidity makes it like swimming with your clothes on. The two things I do not miss about MI are summer and February. (Though summer wasn't perpetually awful, unlike February.) LoM and I are planning a tour of the state next year, though we haven't decided time of year. Late spring fits my travel schedule best, but in late September we'll catch the fall colors (which we both miss, as they tend to be rather subdued here in the PNW).

Right now, I would love to go to the chiropractor. Or at the least, get a full body massage... *sigh* (That actually sounds like Heaven.)

That likely would, darks! What gave you the first clue?

Well, I did a number to my back and neck last year.
So bad that they keep going out of place on their own without much interference from the one at the controls.

I’m familiar with the “never lift” adage. But when you live alone, you don’t have much choice. I’ve learned what I can do and get away with, and what I can do and pay the price for. Today’s little foray falls into the latter category. I just turned the mattress on the bed. Queen-sized. :oO

That, no matter how light the mattress is, will always equal pain.
The mattress is a large lever working against you, and you basically power through it to flip it.
Not good for the back and joints.

Tell me about it. But what’s a gal to do? I’m only good for about 15 minutes of strenuous work, and then my muscles give out, so I had to do this in relays. Then I had to make the bed. Now I want to sleep on it....

Thanks!
I’m glad I have nothing else planned for today. I don’t think I could fight my way out of a wet paper bag.
And I’ve been up since 0340. :o[

I periodically have insomnia, and I’ve learned the hard way not to fight it. So I just get up and do what I have to do for the day, and go to bed at the regular time. Otherwise, it will go on for four or five days. And I hate that.
