I was trying to put some pure acetone which I just bought for 5 dollars for 32oz into my car

"Did that yesterday. Practiced walking up on a target and keep my shot in center mass." If you are dealing with targets that remain targets after impact at center mass, you should be practicing walking away from the target and keeping your shots at center mass.
So many times in the movies, I've seen guys like you. Empty the gun into the target, and then follow with a scream.

And then be vewwy, vewwy, quiet. Haven't ever had to do that, but I think if I were going to take out some sensors, I'd be vewwy, vewwy, quiet until they were gone.
Case in point: the Brit who decided to take out a motorway speed camera. Stopped in view of the camera (license plate recorded). Walked up to the camera (video sequence recorded on camera's hard drive). Poured flammable liquid (petrol?) on camera and lit it -- mostly in camera view. Last views of camera were of the flames eclipsing the field of view, but the hard drive survived.
Took the bobbies no time at all to apprehend the guy.
