The Dragonflies' Lair ~ Thread XXXIX~ June ~ July~ August
Poets of The Dragonflies' Lair | June 19, 2007 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hope you have a good day.

Gorgeous day on the Eastcoast, very cool, but great sunshine.

Kathy, thank you for today’s inspirational music. I am playing a few of my favorites, Amazing Grace ~ Cherokee, Elvis ~ In The Garden, How Great Thou Art ~ Choctaw, The Statler Brothers ~ Church in the Wildwood!

Beautiful all of them.

Good Sunday all!

jacaranda blues

  Jacaranda Blues

I’ve got the jacaranda blues
because I’m in the red,
like bougainvilleas, my dues
can’t wait till they’ve all shed.
I wish a tulip that was black
would match my sorry state,
but I have got a blues attack,
my creditors won’t wait.

For daffodils I yearn, their yellow
a goose for this sad gander;
I’m sure these jaundiced hosts would mellow
the blues of jacaranda.
A hyacinth might well, I think,
restore to me my wealth,
and make me feel a perfect pink
in fragrant flower health.

Perhaps a sour tree like lemon
might soothe my burning brow,
and dissipate the dreadful demon
that jacarandas now
reflect as high above they hang
depressing blue admirers.
I’d get more money for my bang
if I could paint an iris
like Vincent, and forget the trees
so hateful blue in blossom
that falls like teeth that dentists’ fees
can’t save unless you floss them.

Treasures Each Day

Upon the breeze I hear it whispered soft
in shifting clouds I see it in subtle tints there
in proof that God loves me for myself as I

He made a world to hold the firmament aloft
and detailed it with such wonder and loving care
that I ache to see it all even as my time runs by

A scented afternoon, a crisp morning moment
a sultry dusk laced with magic as sweet as a rose so red
and a dawn standing humbled in my silent joy within

Such are the treasures He has so kindly sent
to dispel my sadness and fears I’d thought so dread
and give me strength and joy and purpose yet again

You are welcome, and I wish you a Sunday as full and fun as possible. (Just stay out of trouble, the Lair doesn’t have a bail fund as yet!)

The beginning of the day was overcast and really looked like it would rain. Today at work was even more interesting than yesterday. Just have to wait and see what develops out of all of this. Hope that your day was a good one.

Good evening ladies. This evening’s virtual menu consists of: open pit roasted fresh pig, sour cream potato salad, cole slaw, Boston baked beans, sliced pineapple, sliced peaches, bananas, croissants with butter, coffee, tea and water. Desert consists of 3 layer chocolate cake with embedded dark milk chocolate chunks covered with dark chocolate icing and a large scoop of chocolate gelato. Espresso and or capo-chino rounds out the menu. Bon Appetite.
