The Dragonflies' Lair ~ Thread XXXIX~ June ~ July~ August
Poets of The Dragonflies' Lair | June 19, 2007 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Yup, but not very often, sweets are my bane, in fact all carbohydrates -the things I really like pasta, pizza, and sweet pies, heavy cakes -cheese cakes, etc.
I try to watch that stuff. I don't have diabetes and don't want it. It's in my family.

A lot of the deserts that I prepare have alcohol (not a lot) but enough to cleanse the palate and aid in the settling of the stomach. Also, capochino or espresso with a shot of Courvosier to finish it off.

My mother used to make a pie around Easter that weighed a ton. The Italians have several names for it (Pizza gayne is one) It has eggs prosciutto, sausage and spices. It is very tasty and very filling.

I think many people enjoy alcohol in desserts. I do not use alcohol so I would not enjoy them, but that is only me. ;)

That is fine, there are other tricks that do not include alcohol and they are quite tasty.

Is it the marbled cheese cake or is it the classic cheese cake with fruit (blueberry, strawberry, peach) topping?

In any case, it most likely has a Graham cracker crust.

One of my favorite non-alcholic deserts to eat is Fried ice cream.

In Spanish I believe that it is called Halade Frite sp. It is not like it sounds. There is a trick to preparing this as it is a deep fried shell that completely encases the ice cream. The ice cream is still very cold when it is served. Sometimes the entire item is covered with chocolate syrup.
