The Dragonflies' Lair ~ Thread XXXIX~ June ~ July~ August

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The day was uneventful. Thank goodness. Didn’t that movie have Susan Hayward in it? And wasn’t she accused of murder or is that some other movie that I am thinking of? Age is a terrible thing. All of these things to remember. But, my memory is so good, I never forget anything I remember. LOL

Yes, she starred in the film. I am not sure if she was accused of murder, maybe so. Life got horrible for her. She was able at some point to sober up and resume her career.

It's a very intense film.

Alcoholism is a horrible disease. More die drunk from it than die sober.

Glad you had a good day. I am going to sign off for the night. Have a good rest and remember breakfast on the table for the ladies in the morning. LOL

In The Garden of Delight

She dances as soft as the mist about her feet
as fading quiet as the vanishing day
her gauzy shift ripples in a breeze so fey
and evening comes on cats paws fleet

In the ethereal world of her garden at night
magic flows amid the blossoms growing there
subtle soft and captivating me oh most fair
she is queen of the roses, and lilies so white

In the soft silver of the waxing moon she glows
filling the moment with her magic, her love
my breath catches, seeing her, my sweet dove
and so in wonder my deepest emotions flow

Shadowed moments and sweet soft sighs
shared caresses blending into our hidden fire
amid the subtle scents of nature’s joy ever higher
until the gentle surrender as night passing dies

Good morning ladies. Hopefully all of you have rested well and the gifts that the sandman deposited are only a memory. Today’s breakfast is: Silver Dollar pancakes, eggs any style, assorted meats (slices of Ham, Spam, Scrapple, or a rasher of bacon), country fried potatoes and buttermilk biscuits. Of course there are assorted fruits dry cereal and plenty of coffee.

Wow, have you been working in the galley for a long time, that is some banquet you offer.

Sandman stayed around a long time this morning! Guess he was tired out. LOL

I'll have the eggs with ham, bacon and sausage.

I'll tell you, though, if the cook keeps goiing "ooh!" each time she flips food, this is going to take forever

I worked my fingers to the bone in the preparation of breakfast. When my day is through here, I plan to do some quick grocery shopping and then pick up my meds and maybe drop off into dreamland.

That's beautiful, Way JOHNN!

Dream Dream Away! – To Summer

  Dream dream away tonight
With each song that feels right
Some bouquets are in your mind
And other's in reality you'll find
Keep them and grow them more
Some of them pictures will lore
Daydreaming going to dreams
The image of uncertainty deems

Spin through clutter and rainbow
Everything that's shining the day
Fill every thought with a wow
Come what should and what may
Tumbling down to new summer
Feeling the warms in its hands
Finding the blossoms newcomer
Each in its field and marshlands

Dream dream away to the bright
Morning that comes after night
Filling the air with its perfume
From every summer bed's bloom
