A "screaming" Paris Hilton has been dragged off to serve her full 45 days in jail. Reportedly screamed and called to her mother as she was taken away. More.
Awwwwww, a dose of true reality bites doesn’t it Princess?
The Brig Guards all keep a "straight" face - and looked at me with horror in their expression -- staring at me as though they were looking at some defective human debris that had been pulled out of the latrine..
Wow. That sounds like a story my kids would tell about our home life...
(You know I'm kidding, right? :-)
“45 days?? Not exactly hard time.”
No doubt, she and her parents are acting like the death sentence has been handed down.
Heck, 45 days would just give me time to catch up on my reading.
Hilton was housed in the "special needs" unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. She didn't have a cellmate.
Lots of people in jail “couldn’t handle it”. I know. I sent a bunch of ‘em there when I was an ADA. They didn’t get house arrest. Why should Hilton?
And cripes, of all people, Paris can afford to hire a driver or a taxi for three friggin' years if she wants to go out and party.
In a way, I think that is why the judge came down on her. She had no excuse for driving.
Fish, yes.
Fresh, no.
She’s actually in the jail ward at Twin Towers, there’ll be plenty to do for the next few days.
I think the justice system is overwhelmed. Too many people in lockup that don't need to be there but because of the inflexibility of some laws, there they are. For others, there is a revolving door. Our courts could use some common sense and an overhaul.
Copped a nolo on a DUI with promise of probation. As part of the plea, she agreed not to drive again. Caught, on the road, at night. Possibly DUI again. Jailed for violating the terms of her probation. And the Judge TOLD her at the original plea that if she violated, she was going in. And she could have gone for a lot more than 45 days.
Stupid is as stupid does.
1. Her lawyer and shrink were smart enough to game the system, and convince the LA sheriff to let her out.
2.What they should have done was taken her immediately to an exclusive private mental hospital...like a spa..that wouldm. IMHO, have made her bullet proof. I suspect that they strongly suggested it, but she didn't wanrt to go. Inmstead, she was planning a party for tonight.
2. The sheriff was obviously thrilled to get her out of the jail..she was a huge nuisance, but it's hard to believe that as an elected official, he had no idea that this was goign to blow up in his face. He had to know it was gonna cause him a BIG problem....so why did he go along?
Is thejudge a Republican? Can we please run him against Feinstein in 2008?
Habeas is a waste of energy in this circumstance. The medical angle, done throught channels as it should have been, has a much better shot.
Look for a new hearing, same judge, Monday afternoon.
Ditto over here too. No sympathy whatsoever for this chippy. In fact, if it were up to me, she and all the other drunk drivers would get a heckuva lot more than a few days or a few months in jail. 30 years hard labor and sharing a cell with a big guy named Brutus would be about right. And if said drunk driver caused a fatality...the death penalty.
Whoever said she never learned coping skills is right.
Add to that,, apparantly her mother’s mother was a piece of work. Married several times and one of the husbands was a gangster.
What could be so bad that they didn’t want it discussed in open court.
Did they make up some kind of medical problem or is there one?
Is she pregnant?
Does she have addiction withdrawals? If so, will the medical facility give her some sort of rehab for that, i.e. medication?
Is she headed for a meltdown? Most likely so.
Her auntie Francesca Hilton (is that Zsa Zsa daughter?) said they had planned a party.
Rock on, Hiltons

Not to be taking sides or anything, but jail has every kind of perp, many awaiting trial because their crime was to severe to let them out on pre-trial release. County jail is tough.
Why you maggot! You're a slimey little communist sh*t twinkle toed c***s****r that just signed his own death warrant!
Oh Lazamataz... keeper of my cat's name... I claim many things... wisdom, strength, fidelity... but spelling isn't one of them.
(I can bake bread, stitch a wound, dress any animal, and teach a child... can't spell my own name without a computer's assistance.)
