I don’t know, it looks more like a freeze-frame from a high-speed camera’s output. It’s a way-simpler method than complicated nanosecond triggers. The cameras cost an arm and a leg, though. These sort of films are made to study collision behaviour, fractures, crack spreads, bullet ballistics, etc.
