My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Going to be somewhat cloudy off and on all day.

Old Glory
She flies in the sky, Old Glory does loved and revered by most, hated by some, spit upon, and burned no reverence for thirteen stripes and fifty stars, something to dishonor is what they think, not know or caring that countless lives have been shed to keep her flying above all others has left many a broken, hearted, mother, lover, father, brother, sweet heart and wife sister and aunt, uncles and cousins left drying their eyes, as Taps was played and as bodies were lain in the grave.
We honor those who have died in war in peace time, too, they are on the job they dont complain about the violation of their rights, they are there protecting ours.
Old Glory she files, and covers the coffins of brave and honorable men and women. She is placed on the graves of all who gave their life for a nations freedom.
We remember these heroes on Memorial Day we honor the dearest gift they gave always remember Freedoms not free the cost is in the thousands.

Hello to you!
How you doing?? Life staying exciting for you??
To: Soaring Feather
Yeah, I guess it's exciting enough. Actually I'm now looking forward to a calm and very domestic lifestyle.
I'm probably going to Freep a lot less the next couple of weeks and drink coffee and read Plato in my apartment during my free time.
Of course, once I buy a new laptop (maybe on June 20th), then I can Freep from home instead of coming to Internet cafes, so I will become a surfing addict again!
I feel like having a break from the Internet cafes, but I will say that down here in the South (like everything else, apparently) the cafes are much more comfortable and laid back. Good food too.
I read further up thread your plants are dry in the hot heat! How are those poor things doing now? Any vegetables among them?

I sure would not want to leave my home to go to an internet cafe either. Totally understand your position.
The internet is great for folks as yourself to keep in touch with home base and news.
I do not have any veggies, just flowers. A drink of water snapped them back into shape and they look fine.
Yesterday, we had two strong thunderstorms, I took some of the hanging plants down so they would not get wind whipped. Now I must struggle to get them back in the hanging position again. It never ends. LOL
I could do the pot gardening thing, but truthfully I am not up to it. Wonderful weather today, we had a couple of very hot, humid days-there will be more of them! UGH, I just do not function well in hot humid weather -the Orient would not be a good place for me.
Did you see I used one of your pictures for the opening one morning this week?? I must remember to add your name as photographer on the picture. Sorry, I am remiss in this.
How goes the job??
To: Soaring Feather
It never ends. LOL
LOL, we're cursed I tell you, cursed! Plants, and pots, and wind, oh my!
Yes, I did see the picture. It looked quite nice, but I think that swirling brush effect was successful in accenting the two Indonesian pieces much more dramatically.
But maybe that's because the native lady statue is holding an "open" sign, sort of commercializes it I guess!
The job is quite nice. Luckily at this point I've built up tons of teaching skills, plus my own activities, games, and presentation methods. I also earned a certification in planning and teaching classes two years ago.
That's pretty much the same MO I had in software design. Whatever work I do I make a thorough effort to know what I'm talking about. That's always the best position to be in, wouldn't you agree?
And as long as the classes are running predictably, then there's no other static, generally speaking. I think I will be able to pursue my financial collection goals in this locality rather well.

I do appreciate your feed back on my treatment of your photos. I would not want to make them unappealing to you or others.
Thanks for the input.
You have established a huge resume` for yourself, wonderful to be able to do so.
Your determination to be correct shines up and over the slap happy who cares attitude so prevalent today.
There is so much sloppiness out in the business world today. People not willing to take responsibility for their work and actions. I just hate that.
Here's my attitude, I have to live with one person for the rest of my life, myself, there had better damned well be peace in my head and soul, that's is who I have to account for.
To: Soaring Feather
That sounds like an excellent philosophy. You know, Buddhists focus on making sure that you know all your actions done by body, speech and mind are pure and moral, then you can relax, even if something turned out bad, or not in a way that you intended, you still know that you were sincere in your actions.
So as you say, if you make sure you can live with yourself, then the rest will fall into place by itself.
Well my dime is running out so I'll disappear in the next 5 minutes! Have a great long weekend, and if you don't see me around for a few days it's because I'm taking an Internet cafe break.
Cheers, and regards to all Lairites!

Memorial Day
- C W Johnson
We walked among the crosses
Where our fallen soldiers lay.
And listened to the bugle
As TAPS began to play.
The Chaplin led a prayer
We stood with heads bowed low.
And I thought of fallen comrades
I had known so long ago.
They came from every city
Across this fertile land.
That we might live in freedom.
They lie here 'neath the sand.
I felt a little guilty
My sacrifice was small.
I only lost a little time
But these men lost their all.
Now the services are over
For this Memorial Day.
To the names upon these crosses
I just want to say,
Thanks for what you've given
No one could ask for more.
May you rest with God in heaven
From now through evermore.

*Memorial Day*
Flags today in tribute wave For those loyal ones who gave Of their youth, their hopes, their might For a cause they knew was right.
Morning bells sound their call, Pause and say a prayer for all-- All who served valiantly That men might be ever free.
Toll of bells, drums' slow beat-- Silence falls in every street. In each heart swells the plea: Keep us safe, but keep us free!

We have lovely, white, lacy, clouds over a light blue sky,
‘tis gorgeous I tell you and here is why....
I walked down the streets on the way to an errand
the sun beat on my shoulders as a warm heating pad
and I was glad to be alive, smelling the air
seeing the flowered yards from here to there
allowing the calmness of the day to settle in
around me like a safety zone
and the silence of the back yard where
the muse is a play and one day a poem
will live again in the glen...
ah, the life of a poet is grand, it is!
