My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

How was your day? Mine went exceptionally smooth as most of the admin staff were off. The operations folks were here though.

LOL, well that’s good.
I baked my famous chicken, boneless chicken breasts covered with mild salsa, course ground pepper, course ground sea salt,
Provolone cheese, Roma Cheese, and a sprinkle of croutons. Then I steamed some fresh Broccoli. Yummy!

You went to work??
My day was fine, watched some movies, sunned in the back yard for a short time -was just lazy as a baby seal and loved it.
To: Soaring Feather
Sounds delicious. Did you save some as a snack for later?

Yep, but I will save it for tomorrow, it is so good, and so easy to fix.

Souds like a real gourmet meal that would take hours to prepare.

Fast prep time, for me about 10 minutes. I use the frozen chicken breast halves, oh, I put some olive oil on the bottom of the casserole to prevent sticking. The topping can be anything you wish, cracker crumbs, croutons, bread crumbs, takes about one hour to bake when frozen.
Also, any cheese you prefer, shredded cheddar or anything like that.

Sounds gourmet and tasty to me.

For those who served and started for home, this day we too remember.
We remember those who we lost along the way.
We remember our surprise at being unwelcome in our own country.
We remember how the enemy was honored.
We remember how every TV show had a crazed Nam Vet killing in mindless rage.
We remember the long years we were forgotten,
by an unforgiving country,
an ungrateful people,
a untruthful history,
lying political animals building their careers,
and four decades later some say thanks, and we cry.

Reminiscence
Stygian dark corners in a human heart
where lurk secrets we speak not of.
While we try to live as we were a dove
that hidden darkness is still a part.
Dreams remind us of that other time
that other place in our private hells.
We remember and know the tolling bells
counting those lost beyond reason or rhyme.
A long low black wall records them there
though they are engraved deep within.
We often speak with them, our lost kin
brothers of the bloody times when we dare.
We share memories like we did as young men
and still we laugh at those jokes as old as us.
We are quiet even when we fume and cuss
for silence is the world we came back to then.
They often walk with me, shadows of my past
and we talk sad toned as they ask me of my life.
I try to explain whats it like to have a wife
and they speak of grey tinted purgatorys cast.
Old friends chatting about all we remember
and hope the other sees it in our words so dear.
Here, we are comrades beyond time and fear
sharing all until we meet again in lifes December.

Very well put. The very things that we served and died for is now being eroded by members of the senate. Those senators that deny those that were left behind are in very powerful positions. One of them is even running for President. Never forget that “POWs never have a nice day”.
