My hens are pumpin’ out 24-28 eggs a DAY this time of year. Cha-Ching! :)
I didn’t have time to party, though it was a worthy cause...I took a new job that ties up 60-70 hours of each week...but only through the end of May. I’m the Perennial Manager at a local Garden Center...we make ALL (and I mean ALL) of our money in the four WARM months of the year up here.)
It’s insane! I could work 24/7 and still not keep up. *SIGH*
Anyhow, I did give “The Girlz” extra rations today to celebrate. I started free-ranging them about a month ago and it’s worked wonders. They’re very happy, and so am I...but they do tend to follow the dogs and I when we go on our walk in the early morning, so it’s quite the parade, LOL!
They’ve imprinted on the three of us because they’ve known us all since they were chicks; to them, we mean FOOD!
Chickens are very basic...and really not that smart, LOL!
