No Longer unbeatable Don Lambro on Hillary!
Talk about serendipity. When we are traveling between major destinations we almost always use a campground guide to look up campgrounds along the route and read descriptions to make a selection.
Yesterday we did just that and found a place that met our somewhat special requirements (no trees that are too close to obstruct the satellite internet dish for instance) and stopped in.
While registering we noticed that the campground owners hold bluegrass music festival every year and we mentioned that we play. Then we noticed a flyer on the office wall for a show not far from here that is featuring some WONDERFUL musicians that we met this spring down by where we live. We thought that was remarkable to happen upon a flyer that had folks we knew from our new neighborhood featured on it. But the surprises weren’t over....
Last night the campground owners came over and asked us to play a few tunes so although tired, we obliged.
Parked behind us was another RV with a gentleman and his wife who were listening. Come to find out, they have spent years wintering in the Valley and he is a fiddle player and is friends with and played with many folks we know from there. He pulled out his fiddle and we had a great time playing for a couple of hours. He’s a very good fiddler.
So, I guess it was meant we stay here.
