With the blessing of DollyCali, I will be your host for this, the NFL Draft weekend!
A certain percentage of you probably don't know me, and some of you do. So let me give you the crash course, impromptu introduction...
GOP_Raider, a distinguished and wise poster at Free Republic, is a senior fellow at the National Institute of Hitting It. He is the author of such wisecracks as "Does Ted Kennedy cure hangovers by never sobering up?" and "Annoying liberals before annoying liberals was cool." GOP_Raider is single and lives in a well-armed compound somewhere in the western United States.
So yeah, as I mentioned earlier it's NFL Draft weekend, feel free to humor me with anything draft related or any recent stories of all of your dating experiences, good or bad.
Thanks for having me!
What happened to the thread? Did everyone on here get banned also?
That is an hysterical (and sad if true) story. My oh My.
singles threads are alwyas hit & miss. some times there is a lot of participation & sometimes little. (It isn’t necessarily the topic or the poster).. just who is home & turns on computer etc. Glad when people have lives..
some new changes & new leadership will evolve.
Welcome!
List is found HERE
and will be married this summer.
Hoody is in general DC area & Rocky lives near Akron & is moving this week to the DC area.
We wish them well. This is them last summer at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Pic doesn’t show...
Interesting statistic I read the other day:
1 out of 9 marriages last year, the couple met on line.
.....Bob
I ain’t been banned...yet..
there you go with the danged “M” word..my left leg just shook uncontrollably, my eyes rolled back in my head and I started to slobber..
I see the picture Dolly...they look adorable and very happy!
While I have only had the occasional exchange with just him, I think, I wish them both all the happiness a good life together can bring.
I was fortunate enough to be married, for a very long time, to a man who was hugely handsome, great fun, an excellent dad and a very good provider...so, I know happiness and marriage can coexist...though many, (some here?) might dispute that... *smile*
Nancy
Geez, I didn’t know that tagline thing would just keep appearing...lol...I used it one time with one post and, well, lookie there! It’s following me around... lol
I’ll just leave it for now.
;)
Hi all!
Hence I din’t even bother to ping.
With the exception of Corona and hefeweizens, it’s a sacrilege IMHO to put fruit in beer.
...ranking right up there with Beer Pong and Flippy Cup
Greetings from Laurel, MD!
Hi GOPR,
Reping? Good thing.
Thanks for hosting.
Football/NFL Draft?
My son is beyond disappointed, angry is much more like it, ‘bout Miami Coach Cameron choosing Ted Ginn over QB Brady Quinn...we both agree, at least 3 more losing seasons for the Dolphins...how did Cameron do something sooooo lame?
Back to the real purpose of this thread... ;)
Mantalk.
This from a few weeks ago.
I heard from the guy with the roving eyes-—3x’s-—the first two were messages on the answering machine, the third time I actually spoke to him. I didn’t lie, but I did give him the newly coined Detroit Defense as an excuse. For those who care (hah!) but didn’t participate in that thread, it was about using a personal debacle as a reason not to want to go out with *anyone*-—even tho’ I had other legit reasons for not wanting to go out with this particular guy again...
This is cheap and shallow. I do admit to listening to his two, long messages several times; the guy has a great, mellifluous voice that is very persuasive...women are easy, too.
Feel free to use the Detroit Defense; it worked for me!
Yesterday was good. I met Kloow’d (~~laughing~~ ...that is “Claude” to those of us who speak good ‘ole plain American English...lol..I actually laughed out loud when he said his name. I had to ask him to excuse me. I told him it would be difficult to pronounce it his way, but that I would try...)
Kloow’d/Claude is a French Canadian from Montreal. Very easy on the eyes. Not at all your usual wimpy, metrosexual, French-type. Of course, he is probably a big lib by default. But, I will NOT ask him about his politics just yet-—why ruin a good thing? I figure I can go out with him once or twice before bursting the bubble...lol
I have seen him several times before at this place I frequent for coffee. He’s always been very friendly. We finally introduced ourselves. Then he came over to my table as he was leaving; he took my hand [no, he did not kiss it :)] apologized because he had to leave, put his card in my hand and said, “Naw-ceee, s`il vous plait, please to call me?” (in my best recollection of his French accent.)
I said I would. So, when do I call?!
I’m not shy about calling-— just don’t want to appear too eager-—plus, whatever ph# is on his card is his business #, I assume. He did not write an additional number that would suggest it is just for personal use.
Thanks for stepping up to the plate.
I would gladly be the hostess with the mostest, but as a married lil lass, I mostly just lurk and socialize with my FRiends when time permits.
Meanwhile, if all y'all can keep this up and running, we can do another Halloween thing and I will see if I can get some "guests" to drop by and do readings if you like.
For those that know what-I-mean, it looks like my son will get to do my job, too and it is all cool with the Marines. It is a relief that we are now allowed to "talk" and it is great to have all y'all's support and that nobody was mean enough to turn it all into a Michael Moore media frenzy.
Hugs,
Me
Where’s SNUGS ????
Good question. I think she is taking care of her father, who is ill right now. Dolly, did I get this right??
