I got my new baby chicks, 15 and my turkeys, 3, right out my front door in a pen. It is so funny to watch the german shepard lying next to the pen watching out for the chicks.

Glad to read about the nicotine and soap mixture. Years ago a client of my son's told him this, but I had forgotten about it.
Went to three garden centers this afternoon (after the funeral) looking for large geraniums. Too early. I did find a large Climbing Blaze rose at half price due to some frost damage (not really very bad at all) and bought some stone to finish the small wall along one side of the yard. In the midst of the bland stone was a large piece of what looked to me like the Waldron Shale, absolutely FULL of fossils. Bought it on the spot. ( Sometimes my geology background surfaces and costs me money. LOL!)
Beautiful day here. Watched grandkids in the late afternoon and they played outside. The Coopster is taking them to "math fun night" for pizza and math games at the school. (He is NOT very fond of this, being more a verbal sort of person, but he is a good dad and is sucking it up for the kids' sake.)
I am relaxing and will go outside in a bit to plant my rose, since we are supposed to get rain tonight.
