Red Sox vs Yankees 2007--Seasonal Thread
04/20/07 | Misterrob

Posted on 04/20/2007 8:07:32 AM PDT by misterrob

The Sox and Yankees are resuming their long standing rivalry with and a mix of old and new faces. The Sox have upgraded their team with additions of JD Drew, Julio Lugo and Dice-K. The Yankees return with changes to the starting rotation and the subtraction of Gary Sheffield. Both teams figure to compete deep into the season.

For two states without much to brag about with respect to their elected officials,

Chucky and Hidabeast vs the Flip Flopping Gigalo and the Swimmer

or

The Spitter vs Coupe Deval

Here's to another season of Yankees vs Red Sox on FR!

Game over.

Mietkiewicz hits into a double play to end it.

Red Sox put the Yankees right back where they were at the start of this 3 game series - 5 1/2 back.

The BoSox's magic number falls into the single digits. The magic number is now 9.

The final 10 - 1 Red Sox.

Only 13 games left in the season. Even if New York goes on a 10-3 tear to finish the season, Boston would only have to win six of their next 13 and after tomorrow, they only play teams that are under .500.

And also, the Yankees have to contend with the D-Rays.

I missed today’s action for the first part then picked up the good stuff with Hinske wiping out Posada and then Beckett taking care of business with Giambi. Youk gets hit too often to not have his teammates show some payback.

The Sox starting pitching has outperformed the Yanks the last two days. Too bad Francona went with an obviously exhausted Okijima or we are looking at 6.5 game lead and Rosie O’Donnell clearing her throat.

The last 6 games for the Sox are tough ones with oakland and the Twins coming to town. I don’t think that the Yanks can take the division although I was thinking last night’s game was well in hand...

The best record is what we should be playing for though.

It was nice to see them bounce back that well after that disaster last night. The magic number is now in single digits.

What’s the over under on how many times New England sports fans will be clicking the Previous Channel button on their remotes tomorrow night?

What a nice arguement there. You can’t think of nothing better to say so you resort to name calling. How grade schoolish.

"Pretty pathetic...Red Sox fans"... "Sad."

"Childish"?

"Grade schoolish"?

I only pointed-out to you that the Yankees have a hard time beating a last place team.

You are the one who comes back with disparaging remarks that are childish.

Yankees' fans have a hard time taking defeat and they do pout when they lose. I suppose Yankees fans believe it's a Yankees team birthright to always win.

I think the smart play is to keep the Sox on radio and the Pats on TV since the Sox game is ESPN.

I also will be interested to see how that Pats come out tomorrow. Could be a case where they feel dmoralized after what coach did and play flat or they feel like they have something to do and they go out and destroy the Chargers. If they blow them out I wonder what the hysterics will have to say?

Yup, Veritek is sure in a slump. He may have had 3 Ks today. I’ve got confidence he’ll come out of it by playoff time.

Right, he should have pulled Okajima right after the second dinger, since he has been struggling lately. Sometimes I don’t understand Francona, he takes too long to pull pitchers who we all know are just about to implode.

It was sickening to watch them lose that game.

Hopefully we can take out clemens tomorrow.

Normally I don’t use my television’s PIP feature very often but tonight will be one of those times.

One of the frustrating things about the Belichick story this week has been that I’ve heard almost no analysis of what should be one the biggest games of the year.
