The Sox and Yankees are resuming their long standing rivalry with and a mix of old and new faces. The Sox have upgraded their team with additions of JD Drew, Julio Lugo and Dice-K. The Yankees return with changes to the starting rotation and the subtraction of Gary Sheffield. Both teams figure to compete deep into the season.
For two states without much to brag about with respect to their elected officials,
Chucky and Hidabeast vs the Flip Flopping Gigalo and the Swimmer
or
The Spitter vs Coupe Deval
Here's to another season of Yankees vs Red Sox on FR!
JD Blew is a guy in most dire need of a heart transplant. There’s a time to draw a walk and there’s a time to man up and make a play.
Theo got suckered once again.
DAMON GETS IT DONE VS. OLD CLUB
What a jerk.
Damon is mad that the Red Sox didn’t want him. He wanted to stay in Boston.
Red Sox Nation new king of the road
My husband and I have attended several Red Sox road games at other ballparks over the past few years, and we do wear Red Sox jerseys, hats, etc. to the games. Fans, ushers and vendors treated us pretty nicely everywhere EXCEPT: Yankee Stadium (of course) and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Vendors, etc. were nice... Phillies FANS were NOT nice, with a few exceptions.
What is UP with Phillies and Eagles fans, anyway?
Fans at Oriole Park at Camden Yards are particularly nice, IMO. They put up with hordes of us Red Sox fans (and Yankees fans) invading and taking over their beautiful ballpark (and the Inner Harbor) several times a year... :o)
There are also plenty of a-hole NY fans who don’t appreciate the rivalry between the two teams. They think that the WS is their birth right. I have seen You Tube clips of fans getting on a kid who was maybe 12 and making all sorts of rude and profane comments at him.
Having been to Camden Yards on many a night I can say that there have been some rude Boston fans. Drunk Girl seems to show up a lot.
Not that badly. He could have signed for $10 million a year but that extra $3 million was what felt like love to him. Coco Crisp is not maturing as a hitter at the plate which is sort of too bad because if he could grow up a bit he could be another Kenny Lofton. His D is better than Damon though and Crisp is several million dollars a year cheaper salary wise. Crisp can improve whereas Damon can only hope to slow the decline.
Josh Beckett vs the Old Whore (Wonder if Roger is going to hit one of the Red Sox tonight in retaliation for Gay-Rod getting plunked?)
Sox are without Manny tonight and Bobby Kielty looks bad as well. Why no move to the DL so the Sox could call up a bat from the minors is beyond me. Sept. 1 call ups cannot get here fast enough.
#$%@ $%&!!!
Go Sox!!!
Dustin was out at second.
Bad decisions as of late from Shorty. Sox need to run up Roger’s pitch count!
Yup, too anxious, stick to the plan and he'll hit his pitch count in the fifth inning.
Well, we can see a difference in these two teams. Beckett gives up a two out walk and then the Yanks turn those into runs. Clemens walks two guys with two out and Crisp hits one of his frequent cheap ground balls.
3-0 in the second inning. I see nothing good coming the Sox way tonight. Beckett is missing his spots and the Yankees are too good of an offensive team to do that with.
I'm not giving up yet ;-D
See ya Gayrod.
I may switch to the Cubs-Brewers game if it gets much worse...
Patience Nutmeg, Clemens will melt down and we'll get back into it.
Trust me!
There are also plenty of a-hole NY fans who dont appreciate the rivalry between the two teams. They think that the WS is their birth right.
I have some good friends who are Yankee fans, but don't fit into this category. They're genuine fans who grew up with the Yankees. But quite a few of the NYY fans I see at the park(s), on the radio, etc. very definitely think that the World Series is their birth right ("Got Rings???"). It's that arrogant sense of entitlement by some Yankee fans that really bugs me.
Having been to Camden Yards on many a night I can say that there have been some rude Boston fans. Drunk Girl seems to show up a lot.
That's unfortunate that some rude Boston fans have shown up at Camden Yards. We haven't run into any so far, but I don't doubt you... there are rude fans of every team. I've actually run into MANY rude Red Sox fans at Fenway. This year my husband and I have been spending more time in the "CVS Family Section" (no alcohol section) at Fenway in left field. Nicest fans we've ever met there, besides some of the season ticket holders behind home plate. As you might imagine, some of the worst / drunkest fans we've encountered at Fenway were in the bleachers.
"Drunk Girl?" We'll have to look out for her when we're back in town Sept 8 and 9... ;-D
I don't have much patience with our Sox when they play the Yankees... particularly in the Bronx. I admit emotion takes over reason in these situations! (But not in many other situations, thank goodness)
Ha, you sound like my wife tonight!
Understood, but this is the Yankees of 2007, their not going anywhere!
