SO Virgie left this man because he was a rapist and pedophile and she got in touch with him just to piss her Mama off. Stupid ANS. What a shame.
Isn’t it sad? At least there was still enough of her real self that she needed the Bible. Absentee fathers are a disaster for children. Of course so are abusers who live under the same roof. I’m a little shocked to hear about Don Hogan, though. Any chance he was railroaded? Hehe, children never lie. /s
The sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle were used to mask her sense of inferiority, imo. Of course she wanted a normal family life. It’s too bad she didn’t have real friends to guide her. Daniel sent her over the edge. She was sober enough to realize that Howie was somehow involved, and blew up. Know why? Guilt. She felt guilt because she knew that if the goatherd wasn’t in her and Daniel’s life, he’d still be alive. Sheesh :(
Btw, thank you for sharing your story of sobriety with us. I went for a time to Alanon meetings, and found comfort and wisdom. My ex’s drinking wasn’t the problem, his sociopathy was, however.
That’s interesting. I read something about compulsive masturbation being tied to stress and anxiety. This was years ago, so I wouldn’t know where to find the info.

not sure what the Bahamaian laws are, but if Dr. Barrett, was a former addict, he wuld have had his script writing privledges pulled by the DEA here in the USA (don't know bahama equivalient?) and would have been able to 'counsel' but not to 'prescribe'...anyone know what English agency is ?
I think Virgie is exactly right. I think LB has been smooth talked by HKS and is listening to him instead of to Virgie, the baby's grandmother. It's a shame. Until Larry gets the baby AWAY from Stern he is dependent on Stern's "good will" and probably doesn't want to rock that boat. And he probably has NO stomach for staying for the inquest and/or pursuing any investigation into Danny's or Anna's deaths.
That task will be left to Virgie and her attorneys to do, sadly. If she has the strength and determination to continue to seek justice for her child and grandchild, I will up my admiration of her. The Stern inspired media barrage against her seems to be to have stacked the deck of the jurors against her point of view. That leaves only the Bahamian authorities and I don't have much confidence in them.
Too bad, if that happens.
I still have to read the entire May, 2006 opinion to see exactly what issues they're talking about. It's about 20 pages long so may take awhile.
The last I had heard was that it was put on hold due to E. Pierce Marshall's death. The family did give a statement they intended to pursue in his stead. Then Smith died and I suspect that puts a further hold on it pending administration. After reading the entire opinion, I'd like to see exactly how the law they rely on (both sides) stacks up against the SCOTUS opinion and see how the law professors reached their conclusion further.

I saw trashing of ANS's side of the family by the media that goes back decades. For a change, I would like to see more on HKS's family - family portraits, video of Bonnie threatening "over our dead body," HKS's macho football photos, his prom date if any. And a real investigation of the deaths of Daniel and ANS.

You need to watch the report... she does want partial custody and visitation and a say in how the money is handled (which means she gets a cut of the money).
I've been lurking, but must jump in now. Pictures...HKS always was taking pictures, there was drug use and he may have Larry blackmailed. Larry is in a vulnerable situation as a new Father may be judged unfit??? I think HKS is evil and self serving. I don't like any alliance Larry may have formed with him. As a grandmother I feel for Virgie, but my court roots for the baby. My 2 cents.
I have IE7 and had to add all the different video sites to my security setting before any of them would play after the upgrade.

I agree. HKS and LB both have secrets they want kept quiet. The difference is HKS probably does have pics/video.
