I was of the opinion that Anna was an active, engaged participant in the shady *grifting* i.e. Horizons, taking celebrity advantage and bribery. Then, we learn that she didn’t read the stuff that HK$ stuck in her face to sign. One reason to keep her drugged out of it...another reason to get rid of her when the fit hit the shan...after Daniel’s death and the dawning of her true situation.
Because our lives are so far removed from Anna’s experience - I guess the only comparison would be *finding out your husband has not only been cheating on his taxes, but is an adulterer*.

As far as I’ve seen, ANS did not know KE when she bought the house next door...but we suspect that HKS absolutely did
If HKS’s parents are involved in money games, the check forgery charges that the Bahamian govt is supposedly looking into, would bring that to light...unfortunately, the Bahamian govt acts more like a private harvard club than a govt, at least from what I’ve seen of them, re: inquest. And with HKS playing footsies with Gibson, no telling how long matters could be stalled...(do ya think he’s got a new ‘camera subject’?? How hard it must be for HK to not have anyone dead or dying to videocam 24/7!!)

Hindsight...The claim to “fatherhood” by Howard might have been decided on as the Pre-empt to any future claim of his being a homosexual.
If you read Leroy’s filing, it comsists of the same handful of sentences over and over that say, basically, everyone is lying except Howard.
He thinks by saying that all these charges damage HKS “per se” (on their face), that he doesn’t have to prove that they do - like everything else, we’re just supposed to take HKS’s word for it.
Then throughout it all, Leroy libels and slanders Rita in exactly the same manner as he is alleging his client was defamed, by calling into question her professional integrity.
Please note the wording of all the financial denials - nowhere does Leroy mention Hot Smoochie Lips or Cracker(s) Ltd., of which HKS is the co-owner and therefore, inherits the remnants upon ANS’s death.
Parse every clause, because something like “HKS has not been paid $1 million by ET relating to ANS’s death” really means “it wasn’t $1 million even and it wasn’t paid to Howard directly and it wasn’t paid by ET, but by ET’s production entity, CBS Paramount, or a subsidiary thereof.”
Leroy also fashions the charging statements as if Rita herself said all the things “the ghostwriter” penned, when in fact, the book attributes the statements to the people who actually said them.
The public already knows Howard lies about nearly everything Anna-related, which he then claims is “for her privacy” and is “lawyer-client privilege,” so as to maximize the “celebrity” value of ANS’s likeness, so why in the world should he have been consulted for the book, as Leroy accuses Rita of avoiding, as if it’s somehow actionable?

Is it also possible that HK$ hatched the *fatherhood* plan as a way to cling to Anna & DL. He probably persuaded Anna that she could lose custody to Brikhead because of her drug habit? She was about to chuck HK$ overboard on account of Daniel’s death.
But...with a *reputable attorney/spouse father* on the birth certificate...Anna could rest easy and continue soaking up the medications. And HK$ needed her to take those meds...they were his best weapons.

IIRC - Even though MLK’s speeches were videotaped as *news* events, Coretta King was able to control the use of MLK’s photos and speeches under extreme licenses for his estate. How does that work for public personae???
Thank God for Virgie...because she's the only one that really cares and or cared about Danny and Anna. I hope the baby goes to her someday. I KNOW she would do right by her.
Howie made a mistake in filing the lawsuit. He should know he cannot win but did it anyway to intimidate others into silence, hope for a settlement, and because he is guilty of crimes and hopes this will make him appear like a victim of the "big, bad Rita."
I’d have to read the MLK licensing language to see how their intellectual property is managed.
I’m not a patent lawyer, lol, so I don’t know a *whole lot* about it, except that the last time I looked, no one had trademarked the name “Anna Nicole” or “Anna Nicole Smith” or even “Hot Smoochie Lips” and there weren’t any pending applications.
HKS would first have to incorporate Anna’s estate. I don’t have any idea if he has done that, since he is still only the “nominated” executor and not yet appointed by the court. If he does it in The Bahamas, we’ll never know - their business filings are like the Black Hole of Calcutta.
He is doing things as if he has been approved and I’m not so sure that’s kosher (so to speak). He probably wants to show “due diligence” that he has tried to protect ANS’s “image,” such that it is, so when and if he does try to apply for a trademark, he can point to all these lawsuits as evidence of same.
LOL, when and if he does that, luckily the Patent Office will put it out there for opposition from interested parties. I think we have already seen some of his handiwork at upholding her “image” - *Anna, do something else outrageous and/or raunchy that will get attention and I’ll sell it!*
There may be someplace where the logo for the Anna Nicole Show (that stylized outline figure of ANS) is registered by E! Network, but I’ll be darned if I can find it. They probably just copyrighted it and didn’t bother to register it, or it falls under their blanket corporate usage.
I honestly don’t see how he can trademark her likeness, tho, since most of it was bought and paid for when it was published - and the rights belong to others - or was published under fair use by the news media.
He will have to litigate every instance, in order to show his due diligence for defending the mark - and I just don’t see how he can do that - although I’m sure he’ll try. Her stage name itself is too common to trademark, so it would be her likeness he’d have to try to get covered - and it would have to have been used since her death.
There are contracts she fulfilled as a model or spokesperson for which she still gets royalties - which is the operating income of the Hot Smoochie Lips corporation, if it still exists as that in whatever form that Skane fellow is using it for.
The estate wouldn’t own any of those images, just the attached royalty agreements for however long they last. They may have already expired, for all we know. ANS/HKS weren’t real good at keeping up with things.
He can sue all he wants to, but unless he has some standing or there is an actual entity, such as Anna Nicole Smith Estate, Inc., which is the “client,” I don’t see how he will get very far.
For example, the lawsuit against Dr. Johnson for the breast surgery video - how and if he gets certified by the court to pursue it will tell the tale. I imagine his only concern in any of it is whether someone else is making money off Anna’s image and how he can make it instead of them - not so much “protecting” her image.

He ain’t normal! In fact - think about the psychopharmacy that KE wrote for HK$...who just happened to give them to Anna. Maybe they really were for his psychiatric problems.
We had hoped that if KE got charged with prescription drug abuse charges - she might turn on HK$. However, he can claim HE was KE’s patient - and Anna was just her friend. That will prohibit KE from discussing HK$ in any trial of fact...but, as a *friend* KE can make up any lies about Anna that will cover her butt and that other POSterior.
