I am sorry for your family’s loss also.
How tragic for a young mother and a young child to go through. I know your heart was breaking also to see your daughter and grandchild go through the pain of losing a loved one.
My niece and nephew are older. My nephew is 22 and my niece is 17. He loved both of his children no doubt but his daughter was definitely a daddy’s girl.
I lost my father when I was 18 and I am the youngest of 4 kids. My siblings were already moved out of the house. I just know how hard it was for me at the age of 18 to lose my father (even though he did not die suddenly - he had fought cancer for many years) and now my niece has to go through the same thing at such a young age and then on top of it she has to deal will the sudden loss of her father due to a car accident. It just breaks my heart.
It is frustrating also that my sister and I live so far apart from each other also and that I cannot be there by her side while she is going through all this. I am just a phone call away but it not the same as being able to just drive over to her house to give her or her children a hug when they need one the most.
Thanks for listening to me vent... I think I am going to go to bed. I will probably be on line tomorrow to see what can be learned about the DNA results.
Barfth couldn’t keep her mouth shut to save her life...or the lives of her children for that matter!! If the latest report stating that she is ‘co-counsel’ along with Lin Wood is correct, she is like a PIG in S__T and probably cannot sleep tonight. She probably has renewed ‘visions of sugarplums’ in her head (AKA ‘a chance to replace Ashleigh Banfield on CTV’ or some other talking head on cable TV)!! She disgusts me..I wonder how much CTV or any other station would have to offer her to get her to abandon her children? Hmmm...hopefully, we and her children will NEVER know!!

What we have to watch out for is that HKS may pretend to be a vortex public person, one of Leroy’s specialties.
HKS will protest that Anna was the public person and he was just in the public eye because of her, but didn’t court the spotlight. To which, I would laugh and laugh.
Not only are there miles and miles of videotape, showing differently, but there should be some contracts on file somewhere to show how much he was paid for these appearances by the photo agencies and production companies.
He *is* a public person and as such, must prove not only falsity in the alleged statements, but also malice. There won’t be very many, if any, deep-pockets he can sue. And Leroy will tell you outright that he only goes after deep pockets.
Virgie never went to the Studio City house, so that part can’t be true.
He was also a paid part of the cast in The Anna Nicole Show.
Rale hired the PI, Nazarian, for HKS.
Oh, I’m so sorry - I didn’t know that had happened. My condolences to your sister and family. How sad. May your brother-in-law rest in peace and may God comfort your sister and their children.

Oh, I definitely think HKS will push for that - he’s been living his whole life to be “legally” in that position.
Then there are Neavett and Ross and Rale - he’d probably have to leapfrog over a few people in order to be a “name” in any Marshall proceedings (which I don’t see happening).

I'll be going to Columbia to visit our older daughter and her family before they go on a trip during Spring Break. Hate to miss all that will be going on this thread, but I'll catch up tomorrow night.

I don’t think Debra Opri is going to the Bahamas to present HKS with a bill...BUT that post got me wondering...If Larry is determined to be the biological father of DL, would it be possible for him to request that HKS pay his attorney’s fees? Especially since HKS (and ANS before her death) contested and resisted the CA ruling? If they (ANS and eventually HKS) had complied with the CA ruling, it seems obvious that Larry’s attorney fees would be a lot less astronomical.
I know that it is possible and even customary to request that one party pay the other party’s attorney’s fees in the U.S., but is that something that happens in the Bahamas? If not, could Larry sue HKS for the attorney’s fees in the CA courts (since he filed for paternity there to begin with)? I’m just curious, because if Larry is determined to be Dannielynn’s father (as I EXPECT he will BE), I absolutely think that HKS AND ANS’s estate SHOULD pay his attorney’s fees!! Especially since Anna, with HKS’s help, fled to the Bahamas, specifically to DENY Larry his parental rights as Dannielynn’s biological father!!
Hopefully, there is some recourse for Larry as far as this is concerned, and he will not have to worry about Debra Opri’s outrageous bill...since he should have never had to go to the lengths he had to go to just to be a part of his daughter’s life!!
The way Jean Casares explained it there is two steps to this paternity case...the determination of paterniyt and FRAUD. I’m sure if the court feels that a fraud was perpetrated then HKS will have to pay and may find himself in some other type of hot water. This is why I believe he says he won’t contest the issue of custody. He’ll make some case about not being sure that LB was the father and that he didn’t mean to mislead the court and by not contesting custody he is showing good faith and didn’t intentionally take part in a fraud hence the 2nd part will be dropped and maybe he will get out of paying the legal bills. Not sure. I think they should pay because they made Larry’s life HE double hockey sticks!!
Thank you for the reference and information on the differences between libel and slander. I really do appreciate it because I was not sure of the difference myself.
However, after reading the information you provided, I am even more convinced that it would be almost impossible for HKS/Lin Wood to go after any poster on this site (or any of the other sites I’ve read) for that matter. I’m not saying that there aren’t blogs or websites that HKS/LW might have a case to go after, but this site is not one of those. If you need me to go over the reasons, point by point, I will, but there are so many stipulations that HKS could NOT in any way prove or even allege in most circumstances, that it is almost comical. If HKS and Lin Wood are going after the media or networks, good luck to them because I still believe they have an almost IMPOSSIBLE case to prove They might garner a lot of TV exposure, but I seriously doubt they could PROVE anything...especially with an ongoing INQUEST into one death, and the possibility that the other death investigation could be re-opened if there is any ‘new’ or additional information, which is entirely possible at this point. (If Anna’s death hadn’t occurred on the Seminole CASINO property, it is very likely the investigation would have had a different outcome...or STILL be ongoing).
HKS hired Lin Wood as to be his “MEDIA Body Guard”...no more, no less. When HKS and Lin Wood file a slander (or even a libel) suit againt O’Quinn, I will sit up and take notice. If they go after anyone before that, I will consider them PUSSIES!! Yes, I said it....either go after the BIG DOG or lie down and roll over!!
NOTE TO BRONWYNN - This post is not meant to be derogatory to you at all, and I really do appreciate your information about the slander/libel issue....so please don’t think I’m directing it at you at all. I just took the information your provided and posted my opinion about the circumstances of the case.
ROFLMAO...I should post a picture of my DAD or for that matter, a baby picture of one of my kids, because you will see that their cheeks look just like Dannielynn’s as well!
Dannielynn is HOW OLD in that picture??? Hmmm..her cheeks look a lot like those cute little squirrels in my backyard! I wonder if one of them is her DADDY???
OMG!! Why are all these talking heads (except Greta, apparently) so afraid to say the OBVIOUS!! If HKS is not Dannielynn’s father, and if the will is NOT authenicated or executed (and it is likely it won’t be), then HKS is OUT!! OUT....OUT....OUT!! That is not libel or slander, that is the freaking LAW!! What is so scary about saying that!!

Absolutely. Your points about LB’s recourses in CA court against HKS and/or the ANS estate, if not in the Bahamian court are things that may be motivating HKS’s conciliatory noises.
Birkhead confidence is high
On the eve of what is expected to be the day we find out whether Larry Birkhead is the father of seven-month-old Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, Court TV has learned that Birkhead is so confident in the outcome of the DNA tests that he has visited a local Bahamian tattoo parlor to pick out the image he wants inked into his skin: a pair of tiny baby feet to be tattooed on his side just above his waist. As you can see there are three different tattoos being considered...I hear he’s leaning toward those in the middle which do look more realistic and are just so darn cute.
This is the same tattoo parlor where both Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern were tattooed over a two-day period in early December 2006 when ANS was mourning the loss of her son Daniel Smith who died on September 10, just three months earlier. At that time ANS got two tattoos: one of her with Daniel on her left shoulder and one with baby Dannielynn on her right shoulder. It took 20 hours to complete both tattoos and the two naval piercings also done at the time. In between, HKS got his tattoo of Daniel.
Byron Coley-Austin, the owner of The Tattoo King, says ANS tolerated the painful process well and seemed to be somewhat sedated during the entire time, sleeping for long periods.
Back to Birkhead, who has consistently said he is 110% sure he is Dannilynn’s father. He hasn’t gotten the tattoo yet ... suggesting it’s better to be more than 110% positive before getting a lifelong piece of art placed on your body.
